We've never been a national seed before. All three Regionals we've hosted, we won, but then lost in the Super Regional at Miami, Georgia, and Florida, so being able to host the Super Regional would be a huge boost to us.

Last season 4 national seeds made it to Omaha. 2011: 6 made it and 2010: only 3 made it.

It will count RPI wise, but currently the worst RPI of teams that will be in the tourney is Georgia Tech at 22nd, so there won't be a bad loss RPI wise during the tourney. In 08 and last season, we went 1-2 in tourney play and didn't lose our regional hosting spot.

At this point we're in pretty good shape as long as we don't get swept by FSU or swept out of the ACC tournament. If we either win the FSU series or make the ACC final, we're likely in as a national seed. Anything beyond that just improves our seed by a line or two. Most projections I've seen have us somewhere in the 7-10 range and we have a lot of chances for quality wins remaining with a minimum of 5 more top 25 RPI games left on the schedule.

Of course it would be nice to actually win the ACC tournament to really lock down that seed. It is a pretty tough field, but we've been playing well enough recently to have a realistic shot.

3^ 4 teams from one conference will not be national seeds. Politics from the NCAA would not allow it as they are trying to draw more attention to college baseball nationally.

As far as getting a national seed I think its going to take a win in the FSU series, sweep Duke, and probably get out of group play in the ACCT.

If we win the series with FSU and sweep Duke, we take the Atlantic Division and that would be enough for a national seed regardless of the ACCT.

Apparently UNC and FSU will play a non-con game on May 20th at UNC. I think they're able to play since they didn't play during the season. The team from the Coastal Division that we didn't play this year is Miami.

^^ That bracket projection shows just how important this series is with FSU. Notice how FSU just barely missed getting a national seed, and is therefore sent to Vandy for the Super Regional. That would be a tough road, similar to being sent to Florida last year.

^I recorded it and went back to look at some of the plays. Got me during Red & White in the 8th.

Good win. Adametz played great with the catch in the 1st, gunning down the runner at home, and then getting the 2 RBI hit. Hopefully Trea can break out of his slump, but at least the rest of the team is finding ways to produce when a part of the line up isn't doing as well. Hope we can go ahead and wrap up the series tomorrow.

He threw a pitch 101 MPH allegedly....he normally tops out at 97.

It means it is unusual (in a good way) to reach that velocity as a pitcher late in the game when your arm should be getting tired.

^Its unusual for any pitcher to hit 101, no matter the inning. Especially when he normally tops out in the mid 90's. I highly doubt that 101 is accurate.

He gave up 5 and 8 earned to App and Clemson respectively and then 5 earned to BC in 2 innings. Since BC, he's given up 2 earned to GT, UNC, and Presby.

Teams are watching more pitches from Rodon this year resulting in more HR and BB than last season.
