I keep seeing drafts say they will take McDermott and Warren with their first round picks.

Top two prolific scorers in college? I'll take it.

The last possible thing I want for the Hornets moving forward is some headcase to come in and start fucking up the chemistry of the team.

Hairston is trouble and not worth the risk. Plain and simple.

9. James Young
24. Warren
45. Patric Young

I would highly doubt the Hornets use all of their picks to select guys in the draft. There will be some trades or package deals or something.

Ok in all seriousness, I've never heard anything about him being a bad teammate. Stupid decisions? Sure, plenty of them, but I don't know if that overrides being a damn good player. I'm not gonna be upset if cho doesn't want to touch him, but he addresses a lot of needs immediately. Size for the position, dead eye shooter, rebounds well, plays defense....someone will take a chance on him and be rewarded

Haven't seen a single mock where Warren is available at our 2nd pick in the first round, plus MJ and all, no way a State player ever ends up on the Hornets.

Hairston is actually a piece we could use(outside shooting/scoring), but doubt we take the chance on him unless MJ has a good relationship with the kid.

Is there something to this? I know he was supposedly a State/David Thompson fan as a kid. Would he really not allow a State player to play on the Hornets?

There's absolutely nothing to it, and I'm sure Cho and whoever else takes a hard look at him if he's there at 24.

COLLEGE: NC State HT: 6-8 WT: 220POS: SF
There's a run on wings! Warren is the best scorer of the lot -- a player who looks for and can get his shot from anywhere on the floor. Given the Hornets' scoring issues at the 3 (Michael Kidd-Gilchrist may be a great defender, but he's struggled to find his offense) Warren is a great fit here. His lack of a 3-point shot is the only thing holding him back from going higher.

Saw a mock this morning that had Warren going to the Horncats at 24, think it was draftexpress

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see OKC grab him at 21 since they could use someone that can score off the bench

With the 9th pick, I think the Hornets need to go either SG or SF. I'd be happy with Gary Harris, Doug McDermott, James Young or even Nik Stauskas. Seems like this year's draft is a lot deeper than the past two years

Yeah McDermott does have an Adam Morrison quality to him. Ah who knows. Just trade up and draft Wiggins.

Warren is good enough to be picked at 9. Wont happen, but he certainly going to be better than Noah Vonleh or Tyler Ennis.

So, why can they not just have the old logo? Is it locked up in licensing for a while longer, or did they really think this silliness was a good idea?

So that they can bust out the retro uniforms sometimes

Anyone of the group of Harris/Young/Stauskas will be just fine with me. They all have their individual strengths and weakness.

Yeah, I'd be fine with any of them.

-Young is a good shooter with great size but is bad at defense and really streaky offensively. Also not as athletic as you might think.

-Staukas is a dead-eye shooter, great ballhandler, and overall offensive force with suspect defense and athleticism.

-Harris is a really good shooter with insane quickness who's great on defense but is pretty undersized at 6'4.

They all have flaws, but they can all shoot, which is exactly what the Hornets need next to MKG.

Cho will give LaVine a hard look after his combine performance. There are definitely parallels between LaVine and Westbrook, and not just because they went to the same school. LaVine has the same kind of athleticism and similar questions, being that he's a late-bloomer. Many project him as a PG in the pros. But he didn't do a whole lot this past year and his shot is suspect.

Cho loves combine stars (see Biz, MKG, Zeller), and LaVine was the most impressive athlete at the combine. He doesn't really fit into the "win now" mentality though.

Stephenson is talented no doubt, but he might be the dumbest SG in the league. His bball IQ and shot selection is really bad at times.

The thing that separates Westbrook and Levine seems to be tenacity. Westbrook is like the damn Tazmanian Devil on the court while Levine looked pretty passive most of the time I saw him. I know he was just a freshman with some good upperclassmen, but still.

Sports radio for the next month is going to brutal listening to the same guys everyday call up and wash Hairston's balls.

For the love god I hope he doesn't end up on the Hornets.

It's unfortunate intelligent discourse can't happen because of where a guy went to school. I'd like to know why he's "worthless" besides rawr rawr unccheat sucks

hairston isn't worthless like the winning draft class of felton/mays.

mainly because he isn't a fatass and he can shoot.

^^ That's a fair point, although since he's been in Texas I haven't heard of any shenanigans. It's always a risk I suppose, but I'm not sure driving free rental cars and being in a car with guns is enough to automatically cast him aside. Like I said, if those things scare off cho, then fine, but I would hope they at least do due diligence with him.

I don't think Cho excluding anyone on school, but when he's competition all have stayed out of trouble (and in school) it makes him look worse by comparison.

I think it's fair to say he's the 4th best shooting guard, excluding internationals. Young is clearly better than him, and I don't think anyone would take him over Harris or Stauskas. He's a high 2nd round talent.
