Underwood can have a gigantic season if Brisket can get him the ball. He's never been able to show his true talent imo. 3/20/2014 6:06:52 PM |

^^^ I think he's shown a lot of his talent.
2011: Virginia - breakout game as a freshman when starters got injured 2012: Glennon hit him on some deep bombs 2013: Clemson - the famous "out of bounds" call
Unless he has some other hidden talent, I think I've seen everything he has to offer. 3/24/2014 4:01:12 PM |

You can argue semantics all day, but imo TOB's offense didn't get the best out of him, and last year he didn't have anyone who could get the ball to him.
He has an opportunity to be one of premier talents at that position in the ACC next season assuming JB pans out. 3/24/2014 4:04:58 PM |

Exactly. But I agree, I think he has the potential to be an elite receiver. Or at least one of the better receivers in the ACC.3/24/2014 4:12:52 PM |

All time career leaders in TDs:
1. Torry Holt, 1995-98 31 2. Jerricho Cotchery, 2000-03 21 3. Jarvis Williams, 2007-pres. 20 4. Eddie Goines, 1991-94 17 George Bryan, 2008-11 17 6. Owen Spencer, 2007-10 15 Koren Robinson, 1999-00 15 8. Nasrallah Worthen, 1984-88 14 Haywood Jeffires, 1983-86 14 10. Bryan Peterson, 1999-02 13 11. Bryan Underwood, 2011-pres. 12
A good year and he could break the top 3 (he had 10 TDs in 2012). 3/24/2014 9:02:33 PM |

Let's work on first downs before talking about touchdowns. Remember, this is a team who lost every conference game last year and is starting a brand new QB. Bar should be set pretty low.
I would be happy if Underwood can get 30 receptions this year. 3/24/2014 9:18:21 PM |

Assuming Byrd is healthy, that's huge for us. We'll probably play him at safety again, considering we basically have no one out there. Tocho and Burris should be a pretty good CB tandem.
I also don't think we've seen the best of Underwood. Hopefully Brissett and him can do some big things this year. 3/25/2014 9:39:43 AM |

just had time to read the full release at http://www.gopack.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/032514aaa.html
Quote : | "Wilson’s No. 16 and Williams’ No. 9 will continue to be worn by standout Wolfpack players. In the future, any player designated by the head coach to wear those numbers will also wear a patch honoring Wilson or Williams.
“These two players had outstanding careers for the Wolfpack and have gone on to do great things in the National Football League,” said Doeren. “We, along with our passionate Wolfpack fans, are so proud of them and their accomplishments and wanted to permanently honor them by adding their names to the State greats on display inside Carter-Finley Stadium.”
“The recognition patch is an even more visible way to honor their contributions, because every time a player wearing those numbers steps on the field, he will carry their name on his uniform,” Doeren continued.
Williams, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, said, “I am very appreciative that NC State has decided to honor me and it will be very special to see my name in Carter-Finley Stadium. It’s a special place and I will always call it home.”
Doeren also announced that two of the Wolfpack’s other three former players who competed along with Wilson in Super Bowl XLVIII will return for the spring game. Nate irving, who started at linebacker for the Denver Broncos, and J.R. Sweezy, a starting offensive guard for Seattle, will be on hand for all of the day’s activities and will be recognized on the field. Former Wolfpack kicker Steven Hauschka, also a starter for Seattle, had a previous commitment and will not be able to attend. " |

^^ That patch thing is cool as hell. I'm glad we're starting that tradition.
Reminds me of the way that Michigan used to "honor" a player with #1 jersey. 3/25/2014 4:37:11 PM |

So no one is wearing one next season, right?
And do they wait to see if someone is good and then change their number or do they give the number to a good recruit and cross their fingers?
</debbiedowner>
I guess it's a recruiting tool. Come to NCSU, you can use Wilson's number and you'll get more attention on TV.

Indoor complex rendering looks pretty awesome. Sucks to lose some tailgating spots by the stadium, but an indoor practice complex should be a nice addition.

capacity is not why he is booing, he is booing because tailgating in a field without lined spaces is more fun than in a parking space of set size 4/8/2014 8:52:39 PM |

I doubt that adding parking blocks to the faculty and trinity lots will detract too much from the tailgating experience, I hope. If they were paving them, then I might utter a short boo. I wonder if they're planning on putting gravel down like the southeast stadium lots? That'd kinda suck too.
But having a brand-new indoor facility is a great thing for the team. Where else could it have gone? 4/8/2014 9:07:36 PM |

nope. i just like having grass. and also i park in the faculty lot and i like being able to get there early park under trees. that also goes out the window when you have assigned spaces.4/25/2014 6:25:49 PM |
Bullet All American 28417 Posts user info edit post |
I could be wrong, but I don't think it says that they're going to pave the faculty (or trinity) lots, nor does it say that they'll necessarily assign parking spots there. It just says they'll put parking blocks in the those lots to designate parking spaces so the space is used more efficiently. The paved part that it speaks about is in the stadium lot. The faculty and trinity lots will be a little more crowded, but unless they've announced they're actually "assigning" parking spaces there, you'll still be able to arrive early and park under the trees. Correct me if I'm wrong, I could be. 4/25/2014 9:19:26 PM |
