Junior will land another sponsor.

When they talked about it in Indycar (a legal case stemmed from it changing teams this past season and the team that used to have National Guard is no longer on the grid and have a lawsuit for tampering), the contracts are put up for bid annually from what I understand and are treated no different than any other government contract. A large part of the contract is not just the racing sponsorship but all the non-racing stuff they're required to do with the money given.

I think Hendrick is mistaken they have a contract for 2015. From what I understood from Indycar which is the exact same deal, it's an annual government contract you bid for.

decent NNS race today. Marcos Ambrose continues Watkins Glen dominance. Chase Elliott was first NNS regular in 6th and improved points lead to 12 over Regan Smith.

Also, a sidenote, Dale Earnhardt Juniors twitter is hilarious. He's gone from, "rawr, rawr, Junior Nation" to possibly my favorite driver until Chase Elliott hits the Sprint Cup cars. Dude is hilarious.

Let me just take this time to say that I hate twitter. You've got people on there calling for Tony's head and the only thing they know about this situation is what someone else has posted on twitter that knows nothing about the situation.

According to eyewitnesses, this dude hops out of his car all pissed off and goes walking towards Tony as hes coming by. WHY DID HE GET CLOSE ENOUGH TO GET HIT BY THE F'ING CAR!? This shit happens in NASCAR all the time, but the dude that ISN'T in the car doesn't think about getting close enough to get hit because, well, duh, its gonna hurt if you get hit by that car. Tony won't be charged with anything because he shouldn't be charged with anything.

^Unless there is a video showing Tony's hands steering the car into the kid, how can you prove intent in a situation like that? Kid is running down the track and almost gets hit by the car in front of Tony, only to get run over by Tony.

Sheriff has come out and stated that the kid was DOA at the hospital. Prayers for the kid's family. I can't imagine the pain they are feeling right now.

They brought Tony in for questioning and released him. Said he was fully cooperative. I can't imagine whats going through his head right now.

Where it goes from here, you tell me. I don't think Tony should run at the Glen and really, he should prolly lay it down for the rest of the season. If he makes it out of this without any criminal charges, its still going to be hanging over his head and over NASCAR's head if he stays in the sport. Not a good situation at all.

The kid is practically standing in the way of Tony's car. He has to move just to keep from getting hit by the previous car, then he lunges farther into Tony's path. Why Tony floored it, I don't know, but the car fishtails AWAY from where the kid is standing. Supposedly he had an onboard, so that'd be the conclusive thing, but I see no fault on Tony's part from the video that's available.

It looks like Tony was going about the same speed and following the same line as the car in front of him. That car almost hit him as well. The only thing that is questionable is him hitting the throttle right before contact. I don't know if it was an attempt to hit him, scare him, miss him, or just a natural reaction to someone stepping in front of your car.

Also, the witness accounts are probably going to vary just as much as the opinions of the people posting comments to the video online.

It does initially kick right a little, then fishtails left as Tony compensates for the movement. I'm not sure the force of hitting a 170 lb. man would have much effect on a 1000 HP sprint car moving at speed.
