One thing that was PAINFULLY obvious in this game is how poor of a rebounder Vandy is. He just doesn't have the coordination to be a good rebounder. Lots of UM's offensive boards came off Vandy deflections.

X2. I've been saying this for sometime know. He either:

(1) Looks at the ball in the air and let his teammates get it

(2) He spikes he ball out of bounds like its a volleyball

I seldom see him box out to get a rebound. He wastes a lot of his height which is why im hoping that the Freshman trio of Washington, Freeman, And Anya can develop into quality bigs next season that use their height.

So unless you think this 15-team conference only gets 6 teams in, we still control our own destiny.

Nice! Was a high blood pressure type of game for me, and I usually have low blood pressure. We travel pretty well for a fan base that hasn't had much to cheer for. We had a decent number of fans there.

Exactly! We have a very loyal and passionate fan base for a program that never been a powerhouse. A dedicated fan base can go a long way to encouraging improvements in programs and i hope we see some consistency within the next 2-3 years (earlier would be better but cant get too carried away).

i think the acc is going to get as many teams as the selection committee decides to pick. it could be 4, it could be 8

67 rpi isn't going to get into the tournament, that's herb at arizona state level. we're in the high 50s now, which is still probably on the wrong side of the bubble but might get us in if we get the qatar oil sheiks to pay off the committee

half of the acc sucks this year. the syracuse game isn't going to hurt but the 4 games against teams with 100+ RPI will. the only teams we played OOC with worse rpi's than v tech are schools that dont even try in basketball and just hired ex-carolina players as their coaches because theyre sycophantic idiots

the math has been done. 19-12 (9-9) puts as at an RPI in the low 60s, which means we need to do major damage in the ACCT. 20-11 (10-8) puts us in the low 50s which still wouldn't have us in but we just wouldn't need to embarrass ourselves in Greensboro to have a shot at one of the play in games

we're not going 6-2 the rest of the way (5-3 is already a stretch) so there's no point in talking about that

Looking at the schedule I see us finishing 9-9 in the ACC, maybe 10-8 if we can win either at Clemson or at home against the Tar Holes. Would be nice if we won at Pitt or against Cuse for a resume win but don't see it happening.

Yeah get in the top 35 and it's a guaranteed lock. They can still make it with a top 50 RPI though. Lower than that and it's pretty slim.
