Damn that was disappointing. The positive I can take from this game is that we did not give up and clearly we have talent on par with UNC. We just need some consistency from Barber and Lacey. Both were terrible from the field tonight.

If Lacey had been able to make anything the first half, it would have been a different game. I'm dissappointed, but I like that we were able to fight our way back into it to have a chance at the end.

What business did we have taking 22 shots from 3? Our best shooter was cold and everything was bouncing out. Several of those shots could have been passed in for an easier look at the basket.

Crappy decision making. Oh, and the 2 turnovers in a row that led to and-1 buckets. This could have EASILY been a win.

By comparison, we only took 16 shots from beyond against Duke, and that was a night when our shooters were heating up.

Defense is what cost us the game, they were getting super easy shots in second half. I thought our offense was run poorly but we have shooters to make up for that. Barber ball handling is not good enough to drive on teams with good defenders and he doesn't take 3 pointers which I still cant understand as he makes jumpers that are 2 inches from the 3-point line.

A game that close and you go back and look at all the TOs, missed rebounds, defensive lapses, shit ref calls and just agonize over it. When you finally step back you realize state played their fannies off despite having a fairly crappy night of shooting, and not a great night on D really either, and you can see this team still has a huge amount of potential left.

Now they need to show us they can win and finish games that they should be winning. Do that and we start talking about runs in the ACC tourney and hopefully the NCAA. Hopefully they can carry this much fight and hustle to that point.

also, I don't know how it sounded on TV, but it was really loud in there any time we were not clanking shots, especially when we mounted our comeback down the stretch. there were times that it seemed louder than any point in the Duke game, save the final seconds
