face what's your take on miami making a run in the playoffs? Boston has been the only achilles heel for them so far in the east. 3/29/2016 7:40:23 PM |

Yeah miami is pretty good. I think they'll beat whoever they face first round. And they could give cleveland or Toronto a series.
Richardson has been great for them he will make a name for himself this playoffs.
Also joe johnson has played well. And Whiteside is just a monster. Plus hes seeking a mega deal this offseason so you know he will be focused in the playoffs.
I think this is Wades last postseason with any value so maybe we get a couple throwback games. Dragic has been coming around a little too.

If the Dubs win tonight, I say the record is theirs. Going to tough to play at altitude on such little rest. If they only have to go 5-2 with 5 at home, I just don't see them dropping any at Oracle. 3/30/2016 3:03:50 PM |

This is most likely the toughest game left on their schedule other than @SAS depending on who they play/rest.
Utah is good at home, playing for postseason, and hood is on fire as of late.
I thought hood could become a nice rotational piece or fringe starter but obviously no one had him pegged to be this good this soon.
And Cho was a big Hood proponent but Jordan loved vonleh 3/30/2016 10:28:29 PM |

Unbelievable comeback.
They are just deadly down the stretch. Can't wait to see those highlights on sportscenter. Glad lost every game will be televised from here on out.
This is the most regular season games I've watched since the '88-'93 hornets. I probably caught 35 warriors games this year and followed several on gametracker. Just an unreal interesting regular season team.
It's not even so much the wins record it's the style and flair of the wins.
Team is significantly better than last year but so is the competition. Doubt I'll miss any of their postseason games 3/31/2016 12:22:35 AM |

^^^^^^, yes, Yao was selected to the HOF this year.
Yao is considered as the most influential giant in China history and the most talented Chinese basketball player over A CENTURY. So that's pretty obvious that he's a HOFer.
Yao is also considered as a Chinese icon right after Mao. Although I believe Mao's a red devil.... 3/31/2016 10:12:43 AM |

FWIW Warriors are 6-0 during OT.
I think a first round match up with Utah would be good for them since pace-wise they're similar to the Spurs, although given how banged up Memphis is, I wouldn't be surprised to watch them fall the the 8 seed. 3/31/2016 11:04:10 AM |

^^ Basketball HOF has the most nebulous and all encompassing qualifications for induction of any HOF. There needs to be an NBA HOF. As it is voters are supposed to consider all their qualifications including college, olympics, international, foreign leagues, and other "contributions to the game". Really dumb.
Yeah, Yao definitely isn't in based on his NBA career, it's purely because he brought so many new eyes to the NBA. 3/31/2016 9:51:48 PM |

if cleveland flames out in the playoffs, would lebron really bail on cleveland? his legacy would be ruined, but if he could somehow team up with chris paul and melo he'd stand a chance. no way wade would leave miami tho. 3/31/2016 9:56:33 PM |

inside nba pretty weak with the backups in, no mention Love had to take eight three point shots tonight to get 19 points, I mean if a good game for him is dependent on making 4-5 3 pointers a game and every highlight is just a perimeter shot and nothing in the post then it's still not really working for them,
I actually kind of liked lebron chasing titles but he neutered Bosh and now looks like the same thing again with Love, I think Ill be going for SA all the way at this point 4/1/2016 12:51:11 AM |

19 points on 10 fg and 4 ft is essentially 19 points on 12 shots which is like going 9.5/12 which is just shy of 80% FG shooting... so that's actually extremely efficient. The problem is he hasn't been shooting like that typically.
The problem is this. You don't want Love in the post because postups aren't very efficient anymore and throwing into the post is playing into a defense hands.
You want Irving or Lebron initiating offense with dribble penetration. And that's more effective with spacing so you need Love on the perimeter. That takes away a help defender and opens passing lanes.
Love does his work from the elbow but they don't need that on this team. However, basketball isn't played in a vacuum. They absolutely should find a few possessions a game to throw it to Love at the elbows. Perhaps while lebron is resting or whatever. You make him happy, you get him involved in the offense, and hopefully hes more engaged and confident in his outside stroke.
Also you want him putting up respectable stats so he doesn't get scapegoated every time they lose.
The bottom line though he isn't a good fit. They need to trade himy and they will this offseason. He doesn't play good enough defense to justify low usage on offense and he isn't shooting well enough to be just a stretch 4 and make that much money.
They've tried using him at center and it hasn't worked 4/1/2016 1:51:42 AM |

They need to go back in time and trade him for a 28 year old Tyson Chandler. 4/1/2016 2:18:32 AM |

I mean to win the title lebron pretty much has to play power forward. That's how they gain an edge against the rest of contenders.
Basically in the nba the key is to go as small as possible and still hold your own defensively and on the glass.
The key is to get one big man who can protect the rim and rebound well like chris anderson, whiteside, jordan, drummond, chandler, etc. Then you need a point to guard who can break down the defense and a "big" who can defend the perimeter, rebound, and shoot. Then you surround these pieces with guys who can shoot and defend multiple positions
If you don't have these it makes it quite difficult to win because 3 point shooting has basically wiped other skillset/sized players off the court. 4/1/2016 4:43:44 AM |

Yao was introduced to HOF right after he retired, in 2010. Then he rejected the invitation because he knew he was just a cash machine. NBA used him to open China's door, communist China used him to promote the new China of 21st century.
He's a very influential person, outside the court. Inside the court, he's fine. Best center after Shaq and before Howard, leading Houston to the 2nd round of playoff, several times of all-star starters. He's fine. 4/1/2016 8:14:00 AM |

If I were the Spurs right now, I'd send the house and play full strength to slap the Ws around on Thursday. Worst case scenario, they lose as bad as they did the first time (doubtful). Best case scenario, they get inside their heads and make them freak out about locking up home court down the stretch, or even win it outright and send them into a tailspin. I am legitimately worried for the playoffs right now. Hoping we draw Memphis, because it's going to be a brutal stretch. 4/6/2016 12:01:58 PM |

ok, i'll rephrase: if they continue to play like they did last night against the wolves, or like they did against Boston, the playoffs are going to be a real struggle- esp against teams like LAC or SA, let alone CLE. obv they could very well be fine and win out and this whole thing won't matter, but they've played like shit 2/3 of their last home games- very concerning and not how you want to head into the playoffs, even against a team like Utah or Houston who could give them trouble and gas them a bit.

I haven't checked the standings, but GS has not yet locked up the 1 seed, correct. So they still have E something to play for even if they miss out on 73 wins.
The obvious play is to try for 73 and homecourt. If you miss 73 you sit everyone Tha last couple games once homecourt is secure. There's just no upside to going 71-11 vs. 70-12 if it means you can rest Draymond and Steph. 4/6/2016 4:31:55 PM |

I certainly didn't argue against that. The west is murderous. Whoever makes it out of there will have been tested and probably played a lot of 6 or 7 game series. Dubs could get beat in a series by spurs, OKC, and maybe LAC. It's a tough path to get to the finals. Once they get there they're probably facing a relatively well rested Cavs team. Dubs need home court and they need to be playoff ready because once they get past round 1 there will not be another easy game. 4/6/2016 6:57:50 PM |

^^ they damn sure better win tonight then. 2 of last 4 are against Spurs. Memphis has a lot to play for as well since they're still playing for seeding. They could conceivably still get the 4.
Whats the tiebreaker? If they lost both games to the spurs and lose 1 to Memphis while spurs win out and both finish 70-12 would the spurs end up with homecourt? 4/6/2016 7:38:19 PM |

Researches are the best searches!
Here's my take shoot: I think the Heat have the best shot, easiest schedule remaining with multiple games against Orlando. Hornets have easy schedule as well, but they have to make up a game in the standings which could be tough (and I think Hawks have tiebreaker over Hornets). Celtics play each of the other three teams, so obviously if they win all 3 or 2 of 3 they'll be in good shape. Hawks have Cavs on the road and the Raptors at home tonight, so definitely toughest schedule of the four teams. Will need to win at least one of the games vs. Raptors/Cavs and beat the Celtics to have a shot. I think it ends up 3) Heat 4) Hawks 5) Celtics 6) Hornets.
With Hinkie now gone 76ers might start seeing improvement. East is getting stronger again. Especially if Durant opts for D.C. 4/7/2016 2:48:59 PM |
