If I'm not mistaken, even if you don't have hard mode switched on, if you solve it while following the hard mode rules it will still put the asterisk by your score when you share. Might be wrong, but i thought i read that somewhere.

My streak and everything carried over to NYT. But I solved it this morning around 1-2am. When I go back to the site to share results, it looks like I haven’t played today. Weird. Oh well.

I think it took me like 4 guesses.

Also, I didn’t know about hard mode. But I generally have tried to play by those rules anyways.
