If we still had Painter, Williams, and Johnson, I'd feel confident we'd be one of the best teams in the country. But losing them really hurt. It's going to be tough to be a great team with 8 scholarship players (which includes Vandenburg), and two big-men who are very foul prone.

two guys in the top 6 fg% is bad coaching because it means those guys aren't taking enough of the shots. I know we are 3rd in the nation in fg% but obviously it could be a bit higher. Yes our problems are on defense but that doesn't mean we can't be nitpicky about our offensive efficiency.

LoBo hasn't been getting them the ball. a lot of there FGs are put backs and fast breaks.

not really coaching its our PG not playing good and executing the offense.

although he played great last game 10A.

the D is the problem. I'm not worried about scoring. Turnovers and D.

we play even marginal D it will open the transition game up. Maybe Dan Doeren can coach the guys up on D.

Polls dont really matter in basketball other than giving the impression a team is good. It would help recruiting to stay in the top 25 all year but other than that just gotta get in the tourney.

Yeah I am definitely an advocate for no polls till halfway through the season as well. Football especially because its happened on more than one occasion that someone benefited from preseason ranking despite not being as good as another team.
