the august 30th article that was linked here says:
Quote : | "Another relative of the alleged gunman caught up to him and shot him in the left shoulder during the getaway, the sheriff said.
"Somehow this other family member got down to the bottom (of the driveway) and shot him in the car while the guy was driving away," Anderson said.
The suspect drove a short distance before stopping and asking someone to call 911, the sheriff said. Denton was taken into custody about a half-mile from where the shootings occurred." |
so what the fuck are you even arguing about?9/3/2015 11:37:47 AM |

I was just looking into the links goalielax posted.
My interpretation of the events changed as more facts were presented.
I guess that makes me a "backtracking idiot gun nut". Funny though that I've looked into the story deeper than he has and I'm being accused of making uniformed comments. He is clearly the smart one though, I mean he did Google "gun killings" and post links, that is some impressive stuff. 9/3/2015 1:07:18 PM |

that's from the link he posted, and your posts still don't make sense in that context
your posts were dumb without needing to know any additional information beyond what was included in the link he posted (which I quoted above) 9/4/2015 9:36:28 AM |

I know what link that's from. I'm not sure how you're confused about this.
The first link only says the grandfather ran after the shooter and shot him during his escape. I made assumptions about what happened in the house (Shooting spree stops when he realizes grandpa has a gun and is coming for him).
The 2nd link says the shooter put the gun down, told his grandfather to call 911, then walked away. (Shooter decided to spare grandfather). His Grandfather saw what happened, grabbed gun, chased and shot. 9/4/2015 11:00:10 AM |

I though the grandfather prevented his own murder (and possibly others if the shooter was going on a rampage after, which was my initial assumption).9/8/2015 11:24:14 AM |

Quote : | "BILL O'REILLY (HOST): Finally tonight, Factor Tip of The Day. As we mentioned, Talking Points Memo, Michelle Obama referenced slaves building the White House in referring to the evolution of America in a positive way. It was a positive comment. The history behind her remark is fascinating. George Washington selected the site in 1791, and as president laid the cornerstone in 1792. Washington was then running the country out of Philadelphia.
Slaves did participate in the construction of the White House. Records show about 400 payments made to slave masters between 1795 and 1801. In addition, free blacks, whites, and immigrants also worked on the massive building. There were no illegal immigrants at that time. If you could make it here, you could stay here.
In 1800, President John Adams took up residence in what was then called the Executive Mansion. It was only later on they named it the White House. But Adams was in there with Abigail, and they were still hammering nails, the construction was still going on.
Slaves that worked there were well-fed and had decent lodgings provided by the government, which stopped hiring slave labor in 1802. However, the feds did not forbid subcontractors from using slave labor. So, Michelle Obama is essentially correct in citing slaves as builders of the White House, but there were others working as well. Got it all? There will be a quiz." |

This is what always gets me about the freak out about the "liberal media." Aside from maybe MSNBC, entities like Fox News and Breitbart are orders of magnitude worse and arguably reach as many people (especially FNC -- and be the Murdoch empire in general)..

MSNBC and Breitbart and Foxnews are all the same. They're all awful. Throw in The Blaze I guess as well, since it markets itself as a news outlet.
But I still chuckle to myself when I check CNN, because almost daily there's some pro-Clinton headline. That isn't going to keep me from reading it though, as that's where I get most of my US news.
Hannity is probably one of the most annoying radio personalities out there, one click below Beck. He just says the same thing day in and day out. He's been repeating the same black unemployment numbers for at least the last 5 years now. 8/22/2016 12:43:20 PM |

I've noticed that BBC's twitter account has a HUGE bias towards Hillary and the pro-liberal agenda. I dont think this should come as much of a surprise, considering the left leaning ideology of Europe, but I think a lot of people feel like BBC is "fair and balanced", which is not even close to the truth. 8/23/2016 11:47:26 AM |

It's definitely more "fair and balanced" than most other "MSM".
But really, I'm not sure how journalists, especially those from other countries, can really take Trump and his campaign seriously (despite the fact that it's gotten this far). 8/23/2016 11:54:18 AM |

I feel BBC is more balanced than most. I feel they would give better news for the Republican candidate if the candidate weren't batshit crazy (i.e. not Trump or Cruz). An easier argument is that BBC is anti-Brexit and Trump embodies the same populist talking points which fuel Brexit. 8/23/2016 11:56:32 AM |

^^I didnt say anything about reporting on Trump. That is not a reflection of bias, because almost everyone universally agrees that he is a buffoon.
However, like most of the MSM, they treat Hillary with kid gloves. I dont disagree that it's more "fair and balanced" than most MSM. But it's still very clearly left leaning, which just speaks to how biased the rest of the MSM is. 8/23/2016 12:57:11 PM |
goalielax All American 11252 Posts user info edit post |
the better explanation is that the BBC is reporting the news fromt he angle of how it impacts the country they represent. and to date Trump has called for the proliferation of nukes, made mention of using nukes in europe, abandoning nato, etc. and whatever argument that you may make about it being all talk or whatever doesn't matter to the BBC. Trump poses a clear and present danger to global stability. The BBC is going to report it as such.
in short, calling Trump out for all his bullshit isn't bias. 8/23/2016 1:06:02 PM |

Also regarding the non-US viewpoint, perhaps the rest of the world doesn't see all of Hillary's scandals as damning as people do here. If we found out Merkel was using an unsecured personal server for her important emails or that Theresa May was possibly partially responsible for not fully preparing for an attack on a British embassy 4 years ago would any of you care? 8/23/2016 1:15:47 PM |
