Droid Pro is still about a month away. I'd wait for the Merge. It should be the best keyboarded version.

I am all for Swype, but only for shorter texts. If I'm writing a longer email, I find I can get it done more accurately and faster with the physical keyboard, and this is after using just Swype for months.


Also, having a physical keyboard is very nice for times when your fingers are greasy or sweaty.

i found this other keyboard called "Share Keyboard" that allows you to type over a WiFi network from a computer with a keyboard. now, not so useful if your computer has internet already - but cool regardless...

Considering how Qualcomm cheated to 1GHz on the 65nm snapdragons, don't be surprised if/when the 800 MHz snapdragons run faster (just like a 2.1 GHz i3 will run things faster than a 4.0GHz pentium 4 from when everyone thought that was all the rage)

anyone know of a good app/widget to sync google calendar tasks? I like/prefer the LP calendar widget for caledndars, but it doesn't sync tasks. android agenda widget didn't work so well for me

Check out Pure Calendar Widget, I'm not positive it does what you want but I think it does.

Angry Birds Lite (beta) has been on the market for a month or more. This is the full version, that's typically a paid version.

my sister has been having an issue with her photos. She'll take a photo and then it won't be in the gallery when she tries to email it. Later on it will show up and then disappear again. When it's "missing", the file info is still there, it just has a plain icon. I haven't looked into it at all yet though so let me know if you find a solution. She's on a DX also with 2.2 (stock)

^ that happens to me, but only if I try to access the gallery from the separate app. If I go through the camera app, it's usually always there.

Ive just grown to accept it and the rest of the wonky things this phone does (original Droid with official 2.2).

whats that app that uses your phones camera, gps and internet connectivity to do a 'interactive' overlay of the world? (overlays the road, names, resturants, real estate for sale/rent/lease, etc) or is that only for the iphone?

If you go to the fair with a fully charged droid run the "my tracks" app and record how far you walked and where.....its wierd to look at your path over the satellite image of the fairgrounds.

For my D2, I got the black silicone rubber case that Verizon offers on their site. It is predominantly rubber with a plastic skeleton. It adds a bit of meat to the overall package and is about $15-20, but it's solid and likely better than most else that's out there.

I'm very happy with it and would get it again.

update:

I found out through the sprint website, XDA, and a couple of other android forums that the phone should have updated on initial startup to dg27 and then it would have gotten an OTA update to DI07 and anytime now to DI18... I'm gonna run to the sprint store later and get them to either push the update manually or give me a new phone. This is ridiculous!
