The part that looks shopped is the bottom left hand corner, it just looks off. However if you look at the top right corner you can see though the flag to the M of Stadium. Also, it looks overcast and it has been overcast the last couple of day in the triangle. I personally am undecided, but if it's real, kudos to EZU.

I can't speak for others, but it was that easy for us. Someone left the gates wide open on Halloween night (terrible night with all of the people headed to Franklin street). We were hammered so we were not too concerned with the consequences, but we walked right in, went down the stairs, jumped a gate down to the field, ran out and pissed at mid field. Good memories. don't most players just get kicked off the team because they can't perform in school? What about known cheating? Quote : | "Dick Baddour said the investigation was moving "out of the crisis stage."
"I never though it would got this long honestly," he said.
In his comments, Baddour explained the process of the NCAA's investigation and the principles behind the university's response.
"The integrity of UNC is paramount," Baddour said.
He opened his remarks with an admission that the UNC athletics program had fallen short on academic compliance.
After that realization, Baddour said, he dedicated himself to making it right. He outlined what he called his three principles for doing so.
The first is integrity of UNC, the second, fairness to student-athletes and staff, the third is to participate and look forward.
"Never let it be said UNC was in non-compliance with the investigation or was uncooperative," he said.
Baddour spoke to the crowd for about 20 minutes before taking questions.
He said the most frequent question he gets is about the perceived secrecy surrounding the investigation. "There are just some things we can not talk about," he acknowledged.
In the most detailed manner to date, Baddour told the audience about the people and processes of the NCAA's investigation.
Two people came to campus from the NCAA to ask questions and do interviews. Representatives from the university were in on those sessions, Baddour said.
After the facts are gathered, the university and the NCAA will develop and agree to a "statement of facts," which is sent to another branch of the NCAA. It is there that any violations will be determined, he said.
The NCAA will declare individual student-athletes ineligible based on the findings of violations. Then the university will have the opportunity to petition for reinstatement of the effected athletes.
"If my second principle is to be fair to student-athletes and I think a punishment is not fair, we will back our student-athletes," he said.
After his remarks were concluded, Baddour told reporters the university has scheduled a conference call Friday with the NCAA to appeal the suspensions of defensive back Kendric Burney and safety Deunta Williams and expects an answer on that appeal the same day.
"There's a procedure that you go through, and then you get off the phone, and they do their deliberation, and then they call you back," he said.
The NCAA suspended the players for six and four games respectively last week for receiving improper benefits. Both players have yet to play this season.
Before he opened the floor, he praised both Chancellor Holden Thorp and head football coach Butch Davis.
"Butch Davis has been tremendously cooperative," Baddour said.
Asked about Davis' contract status, Baddour said, "Coach Davis has got my full support. There's no reason to wait. I am where I've been."
Academic investigation moving quickly
Baddour said the investigation into alleged academic infractions by football players is moving along quickly.
"We are towards the back side of that," he said.
Those issues arose as the NCAA asked questions about improper player-agent contact, Baddour said.
The university is dealing with the academic investigation in-house, and any misconduct found will be dealt with by the university's student justice system, Thorp told the Board of Trustees last week.
"We are absolutely buying into that and there is nothing we can do to shorten that," Baddour said, noting the Honor Court's 100-plus years as an independent investigative body.
"We are committed to do this the right way, to restore integrity," he repeated.
The tutor linked to those allegations is not cooperating with the university, Baddour said.
"We would like that person to be involved," he said, "but we have no way to compel that."
Secretary of State looking into athlete-agent relationships
Asked about the reports that defensive tackle Marvin Austin and former assistant football coach John Blake had talked to the North Carolina Secretary of State about athlete-agent relationships, Baddour said he had not been privy to those discussions.
Baddour said he understood that the state would aggressively pursue agents who contacted athletes outside of the law. "I endorse that and hope they will," he said.
Baddour blasted deception by agents and agent representatives who try to solicit business from student-athletes.
"They don't come in three-piece suits carrying briefcases," he said. "They come looking like students."" |

Quote : | "Open Letter to the Honor Court at UNC Students:
I know that you have been dealt some serious cases at the beginning of this school year. I also know that you have no control over anything but some academic issues that have arisen for your fellow students and that it makes no difference for your process that they happen to be football players.
I wanted to let you know that many of the supporters of your University are watching how this is being conducted. It is important to us that you do your work deliberately, and with the necessary efficiency to ensure that your fellow students are not held out of their games wrongfully. In other words do it NOW. Hold your hearings, take your testimony, issue your rulings...whatever they are.
Holding these athletes out of games without evidence of academic wrongdoing is harmful to them and not the reason that many of us write checks each month and year. I do not know any of these athletes personally and have no particular dog in this fight. But, I personally have given each year for many years to both the athletic endeavors and the academic schools. You should know that I will make no more donations to this school until your work here is completed. Further, if it drags on much longer there will be none at all. This is a travesty of justice. Do your job." |

I think UNC is just trying to sugar coat everything still. there are too many ties (blake to agent and butch to tutor) on both prongs for something bad not to happen.
also, this seems to me to be a little deeper situation that USC so therefore the punishment will be equal at the minimum. If not, USC will cause a stink I am sure. 9/29/2010 6:50:19 PM |

For the record: obvious shop, look at the blurring on the edges of the banner. Whoever did that needs to learn about the magic wand tool.
Secondly: Wow, I can't believe that you people are buying into the UNC spin.
The NCAA is going to laugh at any "Honor Court" ruling.
Redshirt a player for a year? LAUGHABLE.
"You fucked up, so you will sit out for a year.... but we'll let you come back next year and act like this never happened."
Right.
In the history of the NCAA coming into someone's shop and sitting there for months, when has something like that ever happened? Never. NEVER. NEVER.
Kentwan Balmer's dad stated that the players knew the MA party in Miami was an agent event. If the players knew, and the coaches didn't, that's Lack of Institutional Control at the bare minimum. If they did know, I think you can full expect to see the death penalty applied. And that's just one prong.
Keep the fucking faith, boys. God will grant you release. 9/29/2010 8:22:16 PM |
