on COD4, how do i get more perks? some it says, "complete marksman challenge" and stuff like that

those are your challenges, located in the barracks

for example, at 25 kills you get a red dot, 75 gets you a silencer and 150 gets you the scope

and perks come when you level up

is that 25/50/75 kills in one game? or is it cumulative? do i have to select a challenge before i attempt it? or does it just happen whenever?

not in a game, overall, with certain weapons

you don't have to select challenges, anytime after you unlock them you can get them

the more challenges you get, the faster you level up, the faster you get better/more perks, the better you get, the faster you prestige and start all over again

I prestiged 2 times on the xbox, and just prestiged for the 3rd time on the ps3 and have no plans of stopping playing

it's a fun game

how is the single player play? i tend to not play online that much because i just dont have that much time, so is the single player worth it if i cant play online much?

sort of

the single player is great, but not worth $60. I feel like the price assumes most people will play online

Resistance 2 is a lot better than I expected. The campaign wasn't amazing but it got better the further along I got, and had some pretty good moments. Although, the final boss was probably worst ever in a first person shooter, don't know what the fuck they were thinking with that shit.

The real highlight for me has been the co-op mode, that shit totally took me off guard. It's like a completely different game and unlike anything I've seen in an FPS. The whole class hierarchy with defined roles is right up the alley of the WoW addict in me, as well as the whole leveling up to unlock new equipment and abilities. I haven't tried the competitive mode yet, but I doubt I'll that like that too much, mostly because I'm terrible at console shooters.

i'm having a hard time dedicating to the 3 games i got for christmas..

i got GTA4, MGS4, and COD4. i've been playing GTA4 and beating missions, playing COD4 online so much...haven't even touched MGS4 yet... gonna do that this afternoon

^ I am having the same problem. That is why I have not picked up MGS4 yet. I have LBP and GTA4 that take up all my time. Haven't played COD4 in awhile and hardly touched FIFA. I also have to beat Ninja Gaiden. I was almost at the end when I sent my PS3 in and they sent me a new one so I lost my saved data. It is hard to start over.

^^^^ yeah, the resistance 2 co-op was pretty fun. started playing that kind of by accident and ended up playing it for hours with a friend.

thought there was a co-op campaign, but that was foiled.

Did you skip the cutscenes? Because they explain those things...

You have to equip your SolidEye to bring up your sound-sensitive radar.

And the circle thing shows where and how far from you enemies are.

i didn't skip the cut scenes...and id on't have a solid eye

is it bad to shoot the enemies? so far i run up behind them and hit R1 and knock them out...

how do you "hold them up"?

Resistance Co-op is really fun. That was pretty much my Christmas break. I'll bet they release some good DLC for it as well. I haven't finished the single player campaign but it is really good so far. Competitive is pretty fun too, but I haven't spent too much time in that yet. The skirmishes are pretty good but they can get a little silly at times just going back and forth over and over again to beacons, etc.

I got Little Big Planet for Christmas and its been surprisingly fun. When people are over its a great game to play. If you're creative you can do some really cool stuff too. Unfortunately I am not.

^ On the canyons board (LBP) I got so frustrated I almost threw the controller through the screen. Then I finally realized you could grab on to the spinning wheels . Funny thing is I actually got past the first set of wheels before realizing this but always died on the second set since it was impossible.

Resistance 2 is fun. I haven't touched it in quite awhile though. I played the online a couple times but have been spoiled by call of duty. I too, have not finished the single player campaign yet. I only like to play it on my big 52" HDTV and 5.1 surround sound due to the monsters and grand scale. But i don't have first option on that tv so i only get to hook up about 1-2 times a week.

more like killzown 2, amirite?

too much backlog right now on PS3, and they keep pumping out addictive PSN games on top of it. Then we've got Skate 2, Killzone 2, and Street Fighter IV all coming in the next 2 months.

fuuuuuuck.

everyone: buy Crash Commando and play w/me (PSN: FlashFlooder)

that is never a bad thing, especially for a console that pretty much shit itself with its release day library.

I'm having a hard time getting into Prince of Persia, it seems too repetitive for me.

I dunno what game to get next, Call of Duty sounds fun but I'm a little late for that bus and I've never played a FPS war game before

i would only buy call of duty if you are hooked up online. if you are only going to play the single player then just rent/borrow. i don't see how you aren't online though, you need to get on that shit

I've actually been having a hard time getting my wireless to work with the ps3. but then again, I havent really needed it to be online, so I havent put much effort into it

I'm pretty retarded when it comes to dealing with my wireless router

if you have it set up and password protected then all you really need to do is set up the wireless connection through the ps3. it'll determine the settings automatically and then you just put in your router password.

but yeah, if you get that worked out and get call of duty you probably won't leave the house for a month.

i just met Drebin in MGS4...this game is very hard... the guns and stuff are difficult to figure out.. it is hard to shoot people...

i feel like i'm just running through the levels trying to find the end...it doesn't seem to matter if anyone finds me or not as long as i get to the end alive....

started resistance 2 last night, beat first 3 levels...so far i enjoyed the forest one the most, maybe because its the best looking one, i hate playing all these shooters with such dark scenes and muddy colors, i wish more were vibrant

YES Crash Commando is AWESOME. It's basically a fast-paced 2D version of Unreal Tournament or Quake. With jetpacks. Definitely worth the $10. Find me on there so I can beat you down PSN:FlashFlooder

My PS3 started '09 failing. If i put in a game it won't start and i get a message that reads:

"An error occurred during the start operation.
(80010514)"

It won't recognize blu rays either, but it'll play DVDs just fine... i think it may need a blu-ray laser replacement? Does anybody know a place that repairs PS3s you would recommend? It's 2 years so it's out of warranty btw.

Once again me and Fry started a NCSU Wolfpack clan on Resistance 2 if anyone wants in....we are both pretty decent now. His K/D is 1.66 and mine is 1.35. WUF is the abbreviation. NCSUBoozie and xLionhart are our sns.

lol. Like what? Y

eah you mention some cross platform games but for PS3 only titles I can only think of two....Little Big Planet and Killzone 2 next month. Resistance is OK, but kinda ugly and single player boring (multi is kinda fun). Where else is the backlog?

^ I think 2 games is a lot to take on at once. I think I can handle playing a couple of games around the same time period but you throw a 3rd in the mix and its hard for all of them to get the time they deserve. Now that I've got LBP and Resistance 2 I haven't had time to play Motorstorm 2 at all. Its tough.

And when Killzone 2 comes out, its going to be really tough.

^^i dont think he meant ps3 only games as much as he just meant that he had a backlog of games in general for his ps3.

and ^yeah i agree. I bought COD4 and GTA4 when i got my ps3 and GTA4 never got the attention it deserved. still hasn't. Then i got Resistance 2 and COD:WaW and i haven't touched R2 in over a month.
