^^ these comments come literally every cycle. CONCACAF qualifying for the players, simply put, sucks a dick. Did you see the fucking beach chairs they used as a bench in that third world shithole.

We aren't world beaters but we just bear Germany. And their B/C team is about equivalent to what a 3/4 team in any given pool would be.

bump for tonight's Panama game.

Zusi (yellow cards) and Jones (injury) out of the starting lineup. Grant Wahl thinks Klinsmann will go with Corona/Cameron in their place but I personally think Kljestan for Zusi is more likely. And I hope I'm wrong because he's been terrible.

The grass over turf looks like shit and if it causes an injury and/or a result, Gulati should be fired immediately. Fuck a damn 10:08 kickoff and fuck Seattle.

Mexico game is on ESPN before our game.

Mexico getting owned by CR at home. Good times.

US lineup is the same as Jamaica, except Cameron for Jones and Eddie Johnson for Zusi.

the US complaining about the pitch sounds like a massive first world problem. lets go to Jamaica and play in the backyard.

I thought it gave a noticeable boost to the players. The crowd motivates the players during the game and Klinnsman is responsible for between the games. I don't see anything wrong with doing it 2-0 up at home. It's a confidence booster and a drainer to Panama. I'd love to hear some Spanish to really taunt the CONCACAF teams but I don't think the crowd could pull it off to be honest.

it was pretty cool chanting "you're not going to Brazil" in Mexico City. anyway this was the best performance under JK by far. Cameron, Bradley, Altidore... all superb. Oh we back

Brad Evans I meant. He couldn't do anything with the ball except pass it backwards or out of play and he was getting smoked by several different players for Panama.

^ He's too young to have written him off completely. He'll probably see at least 2 more coaches before his career is done. I mean, Eddie Johnson and DaMarcus Beasley are back into this team after having disappeared for a good 4-7 years.

oh yeah, he's definitely the weak link in our defense right now but to be fair, he's not a RB. To be even fairer, he got us 3 points in Jamaica less than a week ago.

^^ True, but honestly he should have slotted that back to Dempsey at the top of the box IMO. Given the choice I would take that option over the shot he took every time.

Dempsey had ten guys between him and goal. An open shot from a bad angle is better than a heavily contested one. Granted, Evans turned and shot without knowing much more than "there's no one on the ball," but Dempsey wouldn't have had much to shoot at.

Criticizing a guy for not passing when he scored a game winner is odd.

Anyway, I appreciate guys like Evans that do the work for us in qualifiers but if they're starting in the World Cup, we're in trouble.Post WC-2002 Frankie Hejduk was that kind of guy.

I was in the supporters section for the game. Pretty unreal atmosphere, but still plenty of seats in the upper deck.

My thoughts:

The offense finally started clicking like they've played together before. Some of the one touch passing and off ball movement was great to see.

Evans got absolutely abused and looked lost in possession. It was good to see his instinct towards goal in the Jamaica game, but if he has problems with Panamanian wingers it's only going to magnify itself in the future.

Centrally, Omar was a beast and Bradley was a metronome. il General is by far our most important player.

Absolute compliment - I thought the following sentence would clarify that. He was a rock. He forced Panama's mid fielders into so many bad passes. He tracked back. He was composed on the ball and distributed in every direction. And he almost had a left footed screamer on target from the top of the box.
