I know Seth went to Liberty to be the man so he's probably looking at transferring to a school where he has a good chance of starting.

He is not as good of a distributor as his brother to play point for us and I don't see him being better than Brown at the 2. I mean I'd still want us to take him if it were an option but I don't see him being very interested in us

"Scott set it off this year, even with Zeller not there he has a very good shot at being mr. basketball, only thing in his way is that the other frontrunners are going to indiana and purdue"

yeah Scott probably won't win it b/c he is going out of state. very few players that go to schools out of state win Indiana Mr. Basketball , unless they are like Tyler Zeller who had a ton of hype (some deserved and some undeserved) in high school. the award started in 1939, but was not awarded in 1943 and 1944 due to WWII.

Here's a tally of all the colleges that have had players come to their program out of HS win the award

Indiana (24) - Ed Schienbein, 1940; Tom Schwartz, 1945; Bill Garrett, 1947; Bob Masters, 1948; Hallie Bryant, 1953; Jimmy Rayl, 1959; Tom Van Arsdale, 1961; Dick Van Arsdale, 1961; George McGinnis, 1969; Dave Sheperd, 1970; Kent Benson, 1973; Ray Tolbert, 1977; Steve Bouchie, 1979; Steve Alford, 1983; Delray Brooks (Brooks was USA Today's NPOY, but struggled at IU; he went on to be a standout at Providence and helped lead the Friars to the 1987 Final Four), 1984; Jay Edwards, 1987; Lyndon Jones, 1987; Pat Graham, 1989; Damon Bailey, 1990; Luke Recker (transferred to Arizona but never played due to a serious car accident, then finished at Iowa), 1997; Tom Coverdale, 1998; Jared Jeffries, 2000; A.J. Ratliff, 2004; Eric Gordon, 2007
Purdue (9) - Joe Sexson, 1952; Wilson Eison, 1955; Dennis Brady, 1964; Billy Keller, 1965; Rick Mount, 1966; Kyle Macy (although he finished at UK), 1975; Troy Lewis, 1984; Woody Austin, 1988; Glenn Robinson, 1991;
Kentucky (4) - Dee Monroe, 1949; Mike Flynn, 1971; Jim Master, 1980; Roger Harden, 1982
Cincinnati (3) - Oscar Robertson, 1956; Ron Bonham, 1960; Steve Collier, 1974
North Carolina (3) - Dave Colescott, 1976; Sean May, 2002; Tyler Zeller, 2008
Miami (OH) (3) - Mike McCoy, 1958; Rick Jones, 1963; Damon Frierson, 1995
Ohio State (2) - Charles Macon, 1992; Greg Oden, 2006
Notre Dame (2) - Chris Thomas, 2001; Luke Zeller, 2005
Butler (2) - Bobby Plump (he was the inspiration for Jimmy Chitwood in Hoosiers), 1954; Bill Shepherd, 1968
Evansville (2) - Larry Humes, 1962; Mark Jewell, 1986
Xavier (1) - Justin Cage, 2003
Arizona (1) - Jason Gardner, 1999
Missouri State (1) - Kevin Ault, 1996
Valparaiso (1) - Bryce Drew, 1994
Southern (1) - Maurice Fuller, 1993
Northwestern (1) - Jeff Grose, 1985
Ball State (1) - Dan Palombizio, 1981
Kansas (1) - David Magley, 1978
Youngstown State (1) - Roy Taylor, 1974
Gardner-Webb (1) - Phil Cox, 1972
New Mexico (1) - Willie Long, 1967
Fordham (1) - John Coalman, 1957
Colorado (1) - Tom Harold, 1951
Georgetown (1) - Muncie Burris, 1942
Anderson (1) - Johnny Wilson, 1946
Indiana College (now the University of Indianapolis) (1) - George Crow, 1939

There were 4 ties in the selections (1961, 1974, 1984, 1987).
Marion the school Mays and Wood went to has had four selections (Pat Klein, 1950; Dave Colescott, 1976; Jay Edwards, 1987; Lyndon Jones, 1987).
Only two players did not go on to play in college (Pat Klein, 1950; John Bass, 1941).
Of the 54 selections that went on to play in college, 27 of them committed to an out-of-state school.

Man that took awhile to compile all that.

I'm not going to cite packpride on that. If Marion won the state championship Wood would be for sure the Mr. Basketball. He has the numbers to do it. He coach said he's the only one of the front runners that was forced to play out of position for the benefit of his team, yet he still has the best numbers

after looking at the new video of Davis I like what I see, I think he can be a really nice addition to the depth at the 3 spot.

a lock down defender with some driving and rebounding ability, mixed with a little post game would be nice, he'd basically be taking over Costners spot in this role.

the best thing I like when I see him is that he is really good around the basket and seems to know how to get in a good position not only to score but to rebound and defend.

I see him a lot like a Marcus Ginyard/Dave McClure type player, maybe even a Brewer from UF if he can gain another inch or so.

Andy Katz said it will be a NC school in the ACC (he wants to be in NC and have ACC competition).

Logic says it won't be UNC or WFU as they are deep, have tons of young talent (there and incoming), and already have guards.

State has some talent coming in, but Curry could definitely start right away. Duke doesn't have a true PG and Curry could compete with the Scheyer/Smith "point guard" to offer Duke more flexibility.

I haven't heard anything, but if Katz says his family wants him in NC and in the ACC, I think it is either Duke or State because he wants to play.

^^^^ I bet Curry still takes a look at Wake Forest because Smith (graduation) and Teague (NBA) will be gone by the time he'd be eligible to play. They have no other known commodities at point and I doubt class of 2010 PG Tony Chenault will scare him off. The only school I would cross of the list at this point is UNC.

I don't disagree,

but they own the website, that is how they make a living. They don't own any of the information, but they have access to information that nobody else does. Like i said, its not like its not going to get out anyway. Why would someone sign up for the site when they can just get little tidbits like that as soon as they're posted on TWW or any other site for that matter? They have had a problem with it in the past, maybe they quit trying to stop it.

That said, the slobbing over gravis is stupid, but at the same time, he doesn't post anything anymore because people just get pissed off if its not what they want to hear. So for every one person sucking him off they have 3 or 4 talking shit to him. Kinda wierd, but whatever. I never thought we had a smart group of internet fans anyway.

The Wolfpack Hoops site is going to start stealing memberships away from Pack Pride if they keep it up, they've had almost all of the same "premium info" for free recently. Great job to those guys.

They were good but they lost a little cred with the Demarcus Cousins thing. They recovered nicely but still....that was dumb and a week later he goes to memphis.

I don't really mind Henderson, because he's usually fairly direct about what he does and doesn't know.

But gravis' posts are so ambiguous that they barely give any information at all. And the cult that's grow up around him is down right ridiculous. People over there who are fishing for information post shit like "Give us a smile or wink, gravis!"

^^that whole cousins thing, i still don't see the problem. Apparently WPHs has some sort of inside source, and that source said that "they felt good about their position with Cousins". They didn't say he was going to commit, and people reading should be smart enough to know to take the info with a grain of salt.

I really like the site. Most recent story, Georgia's 5A all-star first-team has 3 Wolpack commits (Brown, Howell, and Harrow), and Brown won POY. Not bad. And football-commit Rashard Smith won the 2A POY. (Was he one of the two football players that are rumored to possibly walk-on the b-ball team?)

I keep hearing that, but I still don't get it. They never said Cousins was coming. They said some sources indicating things were looking good for us.

A couple weeks later, Cousins makes an unofficial visit to Memphis and makes what looks to be a off-the-cuff decision to commit to Memphis surprising his AAU coach and even his Mom. How exactly did they lose credibility? They weren't wrong. They only reported what their sources had told them and made sure to communicate that nothing was solid

I don't know, I guess any inside source 'technically' could say that they feel good about a recruit going to any school. Until a recruit actually commits, anyone's feelings aren't credible until it happens. I might say that I have a good feeling about Wall committing, but I'm not credible. An 'inside' source could say the same, and then John could commit a week later to a different school.

I still check out Wolfpack Hoops everyday for updates.

like clockwork.

We should know by now not to trust these good pieces of information. Its been bullshit more often than not, so until it comes from the horses mouth its just more disappointment. I do know, that whether its true or not, there are going to be some people who need to insert either foot directly into their mouth with the shit thats been written about some of the recruits.

^I never said that. I still check wphoops every day and have since about week 2 of its existence. They put good shit on there. Its not high quality journalism but its good information that you can't get anywhere else and its free from the bullshit and negativity found everywhere else. I'm just saying....next time they have inside info on a recruit i'm less likely to trust it unless its a direct interview.
