cstrom is looking good!

Now I want to take pics again. Very motivating. I have to take some marketing pics to promote my class ... coming out in a couple of weeks.

I'm kind of bummed that I'm probably the one person in this thread who will have worse "after" pics.

Way to go iheartkisses

I really just using that guy.

But seriously I'm probably not in as good of shape as I was when I started, or at least I don't think I've lost weight.

Only 35 miles to run before the end of the year for 1,000 total.

^ wtg on reaching your distance goal! That's awesome!

My prob isn't that I gained weight. It's that I'm back in my skinny jeans. I like the way I look in clothing. But since I'm at a lower body fat percentage and lost the pooch, my ribs are suddenly a little too visible ... not as attractive in a bathing suit. I want to gain weight on my rib cage, but not sure how to do that.

I'm one pound away from my "goal" weight and I think I'm less than an inch away from my measurements goal

... sad thing is, I'm pretty sure it's due a lack of eating and walking so much around campus than working out.

I kind of got burned out and I have barely made trips to the gym in the past month. I definitely won't be able to do anything more than run or walk with my doggy through finals and Christmas break, but I think once January gets here I'll start lifting again.

Good thing is, I haven't lost any muscle mass.... At least I don't think I have :\

^ Great job with your progress, Sam.

If you don't want to go to the gym or just don't have time to go to the gym, you can always throw in some little exercises while you're studying or working on a project.

One of my gfs keeps resistance bands and a crunch ball at her desk for when she's on conference calls. It's an easy way to get in mini-workouts and maintain your muscle mass without the time commitment of going to the gym.

I like to do pushups, lunges and squats when on conference calls or taking a 2-minute mental break from a project.

Seems like a lot of weight, but the percentage isn't that bad.

6 lbs is 5% of my body weight, but 6 lbs doesn't seem like TOO much of a fluctuation if I've had a lot to eat that day.

PS sam-im in your same boat, but worse.

im down to about 141 but i think ive lost a lot of muscle mass. im down an inch or so in my hips (i dont know how happy i am about that) but i just don't feel good abot it  i dunno.

im slowly getting back into weight lifting more often...but keeping it heavy and like 4 days a week as opposed to mediocre and 6 days.

Samwise, its amazing what pushups and chair dips etc can do for you. $50 bucks for a pull-up bar and a 50lb resistance band can go a long way even if you only have and hour or two to spare during the week. I have a gym membership and haven't been in 2 months because I've done it all at my place. Its easy to get home from work/school and exercise immediately rather than contemplate driving to the gym and such.

^ I weigh in twice a day. Morning and evening. Just for the heck of it and out of curiousity.

I eat a lot of seafood (usually sushi) and veggies and drink a TON of water during the day. I wake up at least three pounds lighter every morning, absolutely famished and very thirsty.

I haven't been able to go to a gym in forever so I thought I would be able to subsist on a pullup bar and dip station at home. They both started to wear on my shoulders and chest (like where my ribs connect) and make them hurt...combined with a bad desk situation at work that kills my shoulders I haven't done anything in awhile.

Hopefully in a few pay checks I'll be able to get my home gym started

At least yall are losing weight. I just finished my sixth round of testing and am now seeing a cushings specialist at Duke. My body isn't metabolizing anything anymore so it's really important I work out to burn off whatever I consume. Otherwise I gain anywhere from 2-4 lbs a day. I've also had so much muscle atrophy that my joints hurt very badly after working out. No more support

i've been out of town forever so i haven't been able to stick w/my normal routine. I joined a gym here at my parents hometown for $10 so i've been able to keep my exercise up although not quite the intensity as i'd had it before. Bad part is being at home with home cooking is really throwing my diet off. Fortunately i haven't gained any weight but i think that's partly because i've been losing some muscle mass.

when i go back to raleigh in january im going to switch things up a bit and jump my cal intake to 2800-3000/day and lift an extra day per week. I've been trying to stick w/1800-2000/day but i haven't gotten any stronger and i think its because i'm not eating enough. I'll do this for a month or two, see how its working, if im gaining strength ill stick w/it till im done w/school, then once summer starts ill go back to a weight loss routine.

win-win!

I had to buy new jeans today because all of mine are ridiculously baggy except my skinny jeans, and I usually only wear those with boots... and I can't wear them everyday...

I bought some GAP jeans in a size 8!!! I literally haven't worn a size 8 in jeans since middle school!

I got an Xbox Kinect over the weekend and got the Your Shape Fitness game...and played a bunch of games wearing a 25lb vest and holding 5lb weights. I can feel it a little in my back from the punching game, and my arms feel like they had a bit of a workout...its something at least

Its pretty good. I've been mainly just playing the fitness games, which are really fun. I've heard from Samwise and bmel that it is way more involved and accurate than the Wii. bmel was doing a cardio fitness class when I came home a few days ago and it looked pretty tough . I haven't done any of the classes myself yet though.

It's "Your Shape - Fitness Evolved", and actually there's a demo on the "Kinect Adventures" game you should have - the game that came with the Kinect. It is on the bottom left of the title screen, where you normally would push 'Start'.

It has Yoga too, and will yell at you if you're doing it wrong. I haven't done it yet either though.

Dance Central is a pretty good workout too

track and field sports is probably a good calorie burn.

On the last week of the first month of insanity round two. Luckily the rest week is next week; just in time for NYE. Starting month two of round two of insanity in Jan. Hopefully the results will be better than I have been seeing the first month. I kind of feel like it hasn't challenged me as much as it did the first time. I think the second month (if I keep up with it) is going to be fucking great and I will see some sweet results.

Anyone wanna let me borrow P90x in Feb?
