Has Star Wars ALWAYS been overrun with serious geeks of the likes of Star Trek, or does anybody think it was the mid-nineties revamp and anticipation of these fucking sorry assed prequels?

I like Star Wars and everything, but goddamn. Some of you take this shit way too personal. I remember growing up liking all this stuff, I collected and had nearly all the vintage toys (til I sold them all), was crazy about it like any other kid...

But down that path I never met the types of people that are as serious about it as a lot of you.

I guess I'll have to subjugate the two mediums here by way of those who like those sorry assed special editions and prequels I, II and those of you who do NOT like any of that monkey shit.

Hell, I'm not just some retro junkie, and I've said before that KOTOR has better fucking storylines and characters than either of these first two prequels...

That being said, I'm definitely giving Episode III a chance, and I know that's all Jeworge Jewcas wants anyway...

I liked episode II more than episode VI. Call me crazy.

Does anyone think that Lucas is holding out on an extended version of the prequels? Kinda similar to what happened with LOTR, just not releasing each extended version until all the original prequels have been released. However, instead of going straight to DVD, I could see Lucas rereleasing the extended versions in theatres. Just a thought.

I don't think he will re-release the prequels, there isn't enough fanbase. Too many people dislike them and there are already deleted scenes on the DVDs.

The movie will pretty much be good regardless.

The movie will only be great with good acting or finds some other way to incorporate the books small little entries detailing what characters are thinking.

The basic answer is: much better story.

Plot-wise, this is really the best Star Wars in my opinion. You just watch everything fall into place beautifully.

i believe crossroads 20 sells tickets for any move 2 weeks in advance, so star wars should be a given to have 2 weeks advance ticket sales. i'd imagine they'd have the showtimes worked out by then as well....for other movies, you usually end up having to switch the tickets out cause they havent planned that far in advance.

There are no surprises, not relevations, no twists. The movie does exactly what you expect it to do and nothing more. It does what it has to do to get you to e4 without introducing anything original in the process. Seen e4? Seen e1 and e2? Then you have already seen e3.
