guns are our last line of defense against an oppressive government should it reach socialist state levels. we will not relinquish our rights and abilities to defend ourselves against such a threat should it arise.

thankfully, socialists in america claim they dont approve of violence...

yeah, right

PS: "The courts have consistently ruled that the police do not have an obligation to protect individuals, only the public in general. For example, in Warren v. D.C. the court stated 'courts have without exception concluded that when a municipality or other governmental entity undertakes to furnish police services, it assumes a duty only to the public at large and not to individual members of the community'" (http://www.gunowners.org/fs9504.htm).

Men by their constitutions are naturally divided into two parties

1. men who divide people into two categories like "criminal" and "law abiding"

2. men who do not divide men into meaninglesse arbitrary categories.

You heard it here, folks: Josh-Spice83,000 is smarter than Thomas Jefferson! Will the lunacy never end?

i'm not on josh's side, but thomas jefferson, nor anyone for that matter, should be off-limits to criticism.

^ I actually agree with you. But is it really legitimate criticism? I don't think so.

This a case of J-Fuck posting his insipid bullshit. Jefferson's eloquent words are thoughtful, and they have stood the test of time. Josh's words are just stupid--and not because he disagrees with me. If anybody's doing the dividing, it's Josh in more ways than one.

By the way, is this the "Josh" from the _Technician_? If it is, I will be disappointed.

PS, Josh: Address the posts on the previous page that show you were incorrect about the following: "and they would be safer if there were fewer guns. becuase, guns kill more lives then they save." You're wrong--and it's eating you up inside.

Ok, so some people are criminals, some are not. Two meaningful classifications. Criminals, by definition, do dishonest or immoral things to further themsleves. Law abiding citizens do not do dishonest or immoral things to further themselves. Please enable yourself to grasp this concept. These two categories are definitely NOT "meaningless" or "arbitrary".

^^please tell me someone who hasn't done anything dishonest or immoral to improve themselves?

or are you saying that a kid who cheats on a spelling test is as bad as a contract killer?

You are overanalyzing and missing the point. Criminals are people who, as an ordinary and neccesary part of their business, do things that are dishonest, immoral and unlawful, and, perhaps above anything else, affect others in undesirable ways. By definition, criminals operate under a disregard for the letter of the law.
Law abiding citizens do not. Two different types of people, two different categories.

Yes, everyone has probably done something dishonest or immoral or illegal at some point in their lives. But only for criminals are such activities business as usual.

honestly, things are NOT that black and white. there are definate blacks (heh, lets construe this to be racism ), definate whites, but there is more likely a very confusing array of grays.
