honestly i wasnt that impressed. i loved transformers when i was a kid and despite how stupid i thought the trailers looked everyone seemed so amped on it in this thread. maybe i was expecting something better /shrug.

it had its laughs tho (in a good and bad way) especially the fact that it was practically a 2.5 hour General Motors commercial.

I hate that DEVASTATOR was reduced to a tank, rather than the ultimate CONSTRUCTICON robot he was in G1 Series. Only leaves expectations to see Dynobots in the next film. Which, with the way BAY told the story, any robot can morph whatever they see, esp in a museum.

So, why did they bring the spark thing to the middle of a large city to defend it against the Decipticons? I guess they were thinking "where could we fight this out to have the most collateral damage possible?"

I guess as far as the big screen goes: fighting cg robots in a city > fighting cg robots in the desert. That's the only reason I can think of as to why the story went that direction.

Transformers 2: Rise of the Decepticons. Starscream rallies the troops, builds the undersea base, and initiates a battle which results in Optimus Prime's demise all culminating with the resurrection of Megatron (subversively though, through actions of Decepticons still loyal to Megatron while Starscream is off leading the battle)...

Transformers 3: Return of the Prime. Just replay LotR3 with machines instead of orcs and humans. Or (more realistically) the Autobots are ultimately successful when the two Decepticon factions start attacking each other, leading the new Autobot leader to rally the troops and destroy both Decepticon groups.

That's right bitches...

He was meant to be called Brawl. Anyone involved with the movie will admit that its pretty much just a typo. The toy is also called Brawl in both its small and (upcoming) large versions.

TF2 is so far pretty much confirmed to add Shockwave and Soundwave, but the Dinobots/Constructicons duel is fully expected.

You'd be surprised at how many times the Autobots find themselves hanging helplessly on
the edge of a cliff or stuck treading water in the ocean - then they just fly off into the
sunset in the next scene.

They sure did add a lot of falling "suspense" in the original cartoons - despite their ability
to just fly off
