I don't feel bad for her at all.

Sure it always sucks whe someone dies, but she was doing something stupid, and she paid for it.

It would be like

"Oh poor Billy, he was playing Russian Roulette and accidentally shot himself. Don't you feel so bad for him??"

Fuck no I don't

the funny thing is that I never met her face to face. Only on this website. She used to be much more of a regular one-two years ago (back when I was another screen name ), but she was always pleasant, despite all of the hell she took, especially in the ATTN: Duchess thread (which I think has since been deleted).

If you dont feel bad for her & her family, you have no heart.

This is really sad, and the first person to pass away that posted on t-dub that I actually had some conversation with on here.

condolences to all of those who knew her.

This is so sad I only ever heard the nicest things about her! I can't believe some people can't just be sad about the loss of life instead of jumping to blaming someone immediately. I know it needs to be addressed, but still...

Rest in peace, Emily... Thoughts and prayers to her family.

i dont do it often, but i truly despise drunk drivers becasue all they do is kill people. maybe not the first time, maybe not the second time but one day someone will die from it. it happens all the time to young people but they still dont learn. that, and they bitch about us doing our jobs to stop them.

dear cop we realize it was a risk she took we are sad that she is gone but it was her risk that took her.
please leave we do not want your propaganda here.

No one plans to die doing anything and it is very sad this happend.
But being that one of your friends was arrested for this last week proves that even with your "i'm a cop" frat there are a few of you that are so fucked up even a cop will arrest them.

also there is a 1/1000 chance of being caught in your life driving drunk... and that 1 person that does get caught rarely killed someone.
so stop trying to sound like a tv ad.

SOMEONE FUCKING DIED.

It isn't reported that I know of, but people that know her and her family will all tell you she passed. I'm sure wral will update later, allowing family to hear it first hand instead of by the news.

Enough drunk drivers have ended up crashing into my front yard and fucking up my property that I am happy when the cops come to take them away. One of these days they're going to end up killing someone in my yard

Not to sound insensitive or anything, but nobody deserves something good to happen to them no matter how great a decision they make either. It seems like a lot of people just have this mentality that everyone is supposed to be given a "do over" for making a decision that has tragic consequences but that's the thing with life... you don't always get that chance. You can, believe it or not, die if you choose to get in the car with a drunk driver. This girl found that out, unfortunately. Just because no one deserves to have it happen to them doesn't mean it won't, no matter how hard you wish it...

Now again, at the risk of sounding insensitive, I'll wager that she goes to bars and clubs on a regular basis, am I right folks? And having known quite a few people like that in my life I think it's pretty likely she's been driven by a drunk driver before or even possibly drove while drunk herself. I could be totally off base here, but I've found that people involved in the party scene have been in that situation at least once. She tempted fate then and tempted fate the other night. This time she lost.

Think before you act folks...

Make the best decisions and hope that you'll never fall victim to a random crime, a plane falling on your house, a fire in the middle of the night, or any other random horror that could ruin you in an instant.

The problem here is that this was not a random accident. She knowingly entered into a situation with a (much) greater than usual risk for death. Does always avoiding these situations mean you won't die an early death? No, but it helps.

Did I say that? The point is, there are some situations in life that have some consequences that, while unlikely, can be very dire. You have to think carefully before you decide to engage in them and tempt fate. Again, not trying to be too insensitive here, but I think what happened to this girl falls squarely under the "avoidable mistakes" category. I think she was aware that her friend was drunk. She gambled and lost. On the flip side, there's people, like my old roommate, who used to drive drunk all the time and never got hurt or got in trouble. It cuts both ways. But if you do it often enough, odds are it'll catch up to you one way or another.

I think way too many of us do this... I'm guilty, most people here are, we either have driven, drive still, or have rode with people when we had no business doing it. Either after a couple beers or after some folks get blazed, the fact is, too many of us do it and as long as we do, there are gonna be threads about bad things happening to people.

I've also done legal crazy stuff and actually almost lost to fate, now I know that I am not some bulletproof teenage kid that can do whatever he wants. Sometimes it takes hard lessons to learn things, it took me learning that I can die on a motorcycle or a four wheeler for me to chill the hell out and be more careful

^^ i guess maybe u will look at it different when u have seen people dead in real life...and you see everything it effects. Of course all of us are going to die but when someone loses their life so young it really hits home. You try going to tell a family their child is dead, then you will realize how precious life is and might not take it so lightly.

^^^^^ yeah, i think i'm still waaaaaaaaaaaay less risk averse than your average joe, but it took a few close calls, a bunch of stitches and staples, and a few thousand dollars to make me start to acknowledge to myself that i am, in fact, not invincible.

then having a daughter really made a big difference.

^ she was 20. she could've blown a .001 and still gotten a DUI.

^^ that didn't even do it for me. I always counted myself as better, smarter, more skilled, whatever. I probably was, too...but it took a while for it to really register with me that serious injury or death really could happen to me. I can't really explain it...until I was about 24, the "fear" part of my brain just didn't seem to work.

One of my close friends in high school died of cancer. That doesn't stop me from making jokes about cancer. My great-grandmother died a few years back. At the wake we got trashed and joked about how ornery she was in life. I hope that when I die people can have a sense of humor about it too. And if I die doing something stupid I hope they call me out on it and say, "Man, I hope I'm never a fucking dumbass like her."

But of course I'll be dead so not like I'll know what's going on
