I dont think he realized the game was on the NFL Network, which most of America doesn't even get.

yeah, I'm sure he really cares while he is sitting back getting paid more money than he knows what to do with to relax and exercise

I would think that both him and Mario, and maybe Vince, know that they will always be compared because of where they were drafted . . . but then not give a rats ass since there isn't a way to truely compare players with such different roles. Hell, Mario could have the shittiest stats ever yet still be effective just by being there and being double teamed so that someone else gets 1 on 1 and might get through. Just the same, Reggie could have crappy stats and still be effective since the defensive always allowing for his explosiveness may distract the defense and open things up for other people.

Pro bowl is looking good with 3 DE's going from the AFC

A bigger stretch is All-Pro, a much higher honor, with only 2 DE's for the entire league

I'm not informed enough on everyone else to make an argument for him, but you'd have to figure he's at least in the discussion

I like those uniforms, good to see Mario in red again. The players and coaches have to decide by Monday so Mario definitely chose the right time to blow up.

He and Vince are still about on even ground. They have both had a good year. Both have been injured etc....

Mario is having a good year, I will give him that. But is hardly the type of year that will erase the questions of taking him #1. He will have to have a year just as good as this and better for the next 5 years or more to make it worth it, and even then, its still going to be questionable. If Vince wasn't having a down year this year, then people would still be ripping on Mario. He is lucky Vince isn't doing as well as last year.

Vince has been pretty bad... 7 tds, 16 picks, rating of 67...you can make a good argument that Kerry Collins gives the team a better chance to win

Yeah, he is doing about as bad as Mario did last year. So like I said, so far each has had a good and bad year.

That being said, factor in what Vince has done for the Titans. Getting fans interested in that organization etc, and he might even have a slight edge.

If he bounces back next year, we can right this year off as the Madden Curse.

But its troubling that he has regressed so much as a passer...he was never great to begin with, now he's abysmal.

Well to be fair, Rivers has had quiete a drop off to.

And in Vince's defense, look who the hell he has to throw to.

Not saying thats the only reason, but its a big part of it.

And I will not deny Vince has been pretty bad this year.

bwahaha.

I guess if you don't know about football you might still have questions.

This from the guy that said the Pats don't need a defense.

^^you're right, but, look at peppers this year

it seems like in sports, sometimes you just have an off year, for whatever reason. everyone should sit back and watch bush, young, and mario for several more years before deciding who comes out on top

He isn't having anywhere near the year he had last year.

did Rivers get drafted the same year as Young, Bush and Mario? I could've sworn it was a different draft class

or maybe we can talk about the draft class of 1981 since thats also relevant to the whole "BUSH VS. MARIO" debate

Nothing you posted suggested that.

You said the more a a player plays, the better he is supposed to get.

Rivers is getting worse.

And as I predicted.

How many games have the Texans sold out since they drafted Mario?

And I guess I have to keep bringing it up. Notice how into the game the fans are when Vince comes to town. THE HOME FANS CHEER FOR THE OPPOSING QB.

And what has Mario ever won?

He has a defensive player of the week award

Wasn't even the best defensive rookie on his own team last year.

Vince won offensive ROY and lead his team to the playoffs.

lets see which of the 3 becomes the first Pro Bowler of that draft class

and by your logic Tomlinson and Peyton have gotten worse since last year

oh and Reggie Bush is the worst player in the league right now since he's putting up 0 yards this weekend

^Its easy to ask that pro bowl question with 3 games left in a season.

I fail to see any of you asking it at the start of the year, or even last year.

Your logic, not mine.

And you still failed to answer any of my questions, so I will ask them again.

They are going this year moron.

And its hilarious how my questions keep getting avoided.

You people do realize, to a struggling and new franchise like the Texans, there is a lot more to cosider in your first years other than wins and stats don't you?

Whats ironic is that Rivers performance last Sunday is what will probably ultimately cost the Titans any shot at the playoffs.

Most sportswriters seem to agree now that Williams was the right pick for the Texans.

But of course you disagree because you're a shortsighted troll.

Fixed it for you.

^Ya know, its funny, when Mario was sucking it up last year, and Vince was having a good year, all of you said you can't judge it one or two years in, give him 3-5 before you claim anything. Then Mario has a few good games while Vince has a down year, and you claim him the victor. It doesn't work both ways my friends.

Everyone on ATH the other day still claimed he was the wrong pick except Reali, who isn't even a sportswriter. Just because Rome and a few other guys say he wasn't the wrong pick doesn't mean he was. And vice versa even. Based on their on field success, they are pretty much even.

But when you add in all of Vinces other factors over Mario, then it really becomes a debate.

True, the jury is still out.

But Mario and the Texans are looking better and better every game. Hell, Casey Casserly has gone from goat to genius over the past season while working in the announcing booth.

I agree, it is still out.

But just because Mario hasn't totally stunk it up, even though it took him almost a year and a half to show any signs of brilliance, you can't say he was the right pick just because he isn't a total bust.

The fact is, that franchise is still a total mess, and they are still having trouble filling the stands.

^^Don't downplay Williams' accomplishments this year. This year he has played at an all-pro level and looks like a Peppers clone (circa 2004) right now. Over the past month he has played better than any DE in the game, period. He'll be in Hawaii in February, unlike Young and Bush.

I wouldn't worry too much about the Texans. Winning cures all ills and that defense is gonna be a force for years to come.

You mean that amazing play Rivers had in the end of the game where he wiggled out of a sure sack and threw a beautiful pass to Tomlinson, only to see it get called out of bounds because LT failed to drag his 2nd foot?

That play almost cost them the game. Luckily Rivers stepped up and hit Chambers on 4th down the next play.
