well... that game started great for me.

My issue was largely with playcalling. Why not run a few screens or slants since Boeckman has trouble throwing the ball downfield without either a)underthrowing it or b)overthrowing it. Perhaps those screens/slants would open some more things up for Beanie who is....kinda good.

What's the difference btw running into and roughing the kicker? That one seemed borderline to me (granted I'm biased). Had that been only a 5 yd penalty, OSU would have had the ball back down 24-10, and who knows from there.

Oh well, I know everyone's going to pile this on top of all their other OSU hatred, but unless you're a LSU or Florida fan, you really don't have any room to talk shit. Plus, OSU is gonna be a beast the next 2 yrs.

Did you miss the part where I was critizing OSU? I mean, LSU played the better game, just like UF did last year. I'm not arguing that. My issue is with all the fans of schools that didnt make it to even a BCS game, or even a bowl game talking shit about how the Big10 is trash.

The Big10 had a better OOC record than any other BCS conference, and a better OOC agains other BCS schools than any other conference, but this all gets overlooked based on 3 games.

Don't get me wrong though, losing 2 NC games sucks... it really sucks. I'm trying not to dwell on it, and look at the upsides, so.... ya know.

they had more YPCatch than LSU
they had more YPCarry than LSU

and all of that with a 8 mintue TOP deficit

turnovers and penalties lost this game for OSU. Just they way turnovers almost gave Florida the Michigan game...a game which should have been at least a 21 point UM win...they made florida look fucking stupid out there

LSU is the luckiest NC in the history of CFB. The SEC is wayyyyy overhyped and overrated.

I wouldn't say LSU is overhyped, they're a good team, and no one is really sucking them off they way USC used to get their knobs slobbed.

But OSU shot themselves in the foot with those penalties and turnovers. Boeckman is NOT a prime time QB. 2 INTs and a fumble will kill your team Favre style. 5 Personal fouls is fucking inexcusable for a team in that position.

running into is usually where the defensive player hits the ground and their momentum carries them into the kicker, usually rolling into their feet... but if they hit the kicker because they jump into him, as in the actual trajectory of their jump is right in line with the kicker, that will almost always be roughing

I am sorry beating up on other BCS conferences doormats does not make your conference superior. Hell Duke beat Northwestern. The Big 10 was as big a joke as the ACC this year. Losing to teams like App State don't help a conferences prestige. The fact that you had 2 BCS teams speaks to the bias of the BCS system. Illinois was destroyed by a USC team that struggled most of the year. When your toughest OOC game is Washington it makes for an easy road to an undefeated season in a down year for the big 10 who got rankings based on respect for the conferences past accomplishments

Turnovers were created by the speed and athleticism of LSU. I hate when people use that excuse, as if OSU snapped the ball and handed it to an LSU player. Yes there are bad turnovers(fumbled snaps, etc). But there weren't any of those.

As far as the kicker penalty, you can't hit the kicker. Running into the kicker is when you get blocked into him, or something along those lines. If you don't get any football when you try to block it you can't hit the kicker, ESPECIALLY his leg(or his entire body like the guy did), that is for the protection of the kicker. How can you go to NC State and not understand that rule? It is something we do all the time.

Every conference is light years ahead of the Big 10. They still play football like it is 1960's. They have the athletes to make up for it, but there is a reason why Big 10 teams loose to teams that run the spread, they never see it during the season. Some teams are starting to get it, like Illinois.

And stop using the UM vs. UF game to boost the big 10. The SEC was 7-2 in the bowls this year, they are the best conference but yes, it isn't by a ton, but they are the best.
