Doubleheaders can be sweet for your stats, but they can also fuck your average and OPS

Thanks Jason Bay for the 0 for 7 today !

The same B.J. Ryan that only pitches on 3 days rest?

Probably not going to happen.

i'm not sure if they'd let him pitch twice in a doubleheader even if toronto was ahead but about a week and a half ago the doctors cleared him to pitch on consecutive days...they were waiting for the 1-year anniversary of his surgery or something

if the jays won 6 close games in a row it would probably go Ryan, Ryan, Accardo, Ryan, Ryan, Accardo

It's always "supposed" to be better to throw twice on one day, than on back-to-back days, but it usually doesn't happen anyways

W000T Fausto Carmona with a shutout baby!

That helps offset Jair's bad outing....even though he only gave up 3 hits and Acosta. Is he the closer or not, what is the deal.

They can't win close games anyways, so it doesn't matter. But really I guess it's just whoever Bobby feels like for that day, Acosta will still get more shots than anybody, but it's by commitee for now.

Dusty Baker said today that Jay Bruce would be called up soon (meaning sometime in the next week)

pick him up if you can

this is awesome...i have cliff lee and marcum, both free agent pickups after the draft.

it's the top of the ninth and both are still pitching and have given up 0 runs.

i was hoping lee was going to give up a run in the top of the ninth when it was 2 outs and a man on first and third

I have Marcum btw. I picked him up before the season started and after the draft.

I was going to pick up lee in the beginning of the season after his 2nd start but I picked up some other shitbag instead

Yeah it was a meh day for pitching. Had Fausto, Lee and Marcum, but also had Jurrjens and Wainright. Meh. And BJ ryan... 18 innings of shutout from the Tor/Clev game.

i really hate that yahoo MLB skinny and shit like that. I mean anything they say people jump on, so if ive been researching a guy for 2-3 weeks and then they put him in an article, every retard jumps in and picks him up

Yeah I know

I wish it was back like it was when fantasy wasn't as popular as you had to do all the research yourself to find the diamonds in the rough

Now its basically do what Matthew Berry and Brandon Funston tell you to do

i had 19 innings pitched tonight

* 19.0 innings
* 14 strikeouts
* 0.00 era
* 0.68 whip

0 wins and 0 saves though

that's a solid start to the week for the pitching stats though. it should anchor my era and whip for this week.

[lee, marcum, isringhausen, and wagner]

Bedard sucked a dick, that's what

killed my good outing from Lee and the decent one from Burnett even though he got the L

in other news, how incredible is Berkman right now

A-Rod should be back Tuesday vs. Baltimore

Josh Hamilton is on pace to hit the 7th most RBIs ever in a season (he has 43 through 40 games)

I want to have Hamilton's baby right now

What type of player do you guys think would be beneficial to trade Jeremy Bonderman for? (Deep league, AL and NL) Or should I just bench him and hope he turns it around because he's not worth shit right now?

i might bench him until the tigers get some batting going

or try to trade him for verlander if the guy who owns verlander is a sucker

speaking of Hamilton, he came over from the Reds in a deal that sent who to the Rangers? Another fantasy baller this year, Edinson Volquez

what do you think about this trade?

I trade:
Utley
Votto
Sherrill

I get:
BJ Upton
Hamilton
Wainwright

I desperately need pitching and SBs. I have 4 closers right now (Mota, Sherrill, Lyon, and Putz). Even though Sherrill has 13 saves, he has over a 4 ERA. Even if Hamilton doesn't keep up this ridiculous pace, I still think I'm making out.

i dont think its a bad trade...get rid of Votto while he still has inflated value...and while Utley is still the best 2B in fantasy, Upton is right in the next tier with Phillips

no one in my league would be dumb enough to trade me Verlander for Bonderman

As a Rangers fan I love to look at how bad their pitching situation is and has been since forever and then look at how the people they traded away are doing...Chris Young, Edinson Volquez, John Danks

as a mariners fan, I see us trade for one of the best pitchers in the league and we still suck

There's talk about Griffey coming back to Seattle. I love Griffey but we have too many people that get paid way way more than they are worth (Sexson and Beltre). Luckily this is Sexson's last year in Seattle!!!

In my really in depth league (stats for everything and huge 21 man rosters -- including 2 DL slots) I picked up Jay Bruce even though he is still in AAA... you know that he is getting the call soon and he is going to be solid when he does...

BA & BP's #1 prospect. Homer Bailey is going to be the shit, too. Cincinnati could be good in a few years if Baker doesn't wreck these kids.

They better have a damn good rotation in that park...on that note, if you have volquez you should sell him now as the games in cincy will catch up to him sooner than later

no way i'd sell volquez right now...6-1...1.12 ERA...leads the league in strikeouts...hasnt allowed more than 1 earned run in any start...4th best fantasy pitcher in the game

I'd sell him. The league will catch up to him. His home ballpark is a launching pad in the summer time. His coach is notorious for leaving his starting pitchers one inning too long. He will never have as much value as he does now.

he might fall off but you could say the same thing about cliff lee and i wouldnt trade him if i had him
