Changed my mii to medium size and now use the Mach Bike instead of large mii/Flame Runner.

This has easily put me over 8000+ on the WFC for the first time. You just much more are able to recover from freak happenings that would plummet you ~100+ pts in one race.... I also don't feel much of a difference in top speed either....

^^yeah I use the Sneakster bike. Its got a HIGH top speed and decent acceleration/handling. With the speed I have I can usually put a lot of distance on other players, so even if I get hit with a blue I'm usually still in the lead.

I've almost got 3 stars in 100cc (1 cup left) but its still fairly difficult in 50cc. What are the requirements? I assume that its just racing flawlessly, but I also wonder if margin of victory has something to do with it.

I watched today as the cpu cheated in a grand prix. Birdo was the second place finisher in the first 2 races, so she had the 2nd highest point total, at the end of the 3rd race I looked behind me to watch them finish, and toad hit her with a red shell and passed her across the line to finish 2nd by a good bit. When the score screen came up it gave birdo points for second place, presumably to make sure that it would be more difficult for me to win gold.

^Yeah I've noticed stuff like that too. If you look at the map while you finish, people will rank differently then what they were at when you finished.

I'm sure once you cross the line, it locks the places for the computer, so they don't race it out to the end once you've finished...

That's what I meant. Like when I finish first if yoshi is behind me and toad behind him on the map, I've seen it still put toad as second place.

^^^I was playing online two days ago for probably 90 minutes or so. Got my ranking up over 9000 for the first time! Only to plummet hard a few minutes later. I hate those assholes that vote for short oval tracks. Anyway I'm back around 8900

I still like playing but haven't played a lot recently, been too busy with a lot of other stuff. Also I have a lot of TWW peeps on my friends list and they're NEVER online. Go figure.

^You have to get Gold in all the other cups to unlock the Mirror cup.

I'm still working on getting my 3 star rating, but I hardly ever play. Kust 8 more cups and I'm in!

Has anyone in here hit the 10,000 rating in online racing yet? I didn't realize there was a ceiling.

mario kart with 2 wheels - $55 at samsclub.
you have to go to a local sams, b/c it's sold out online. no problems finding one if you have a membership, they have plenty.

extra wheels $5 at circuit city. i got a $24 gift card b/c it wasn't ready on time.

I've had my Mario Kart for about a year now. But a coworker wanted it badly for Christmas. I basically had to ring the Gamestop and Walmart in Roanoke Rapids for 3-4 days straight to see if a shipment arrived. 2 cases arrived one evening, and the next day by lunchtime they were down to 2 of the damn things when I went and picked it up for her.

^I call BS. Mariokart came out in April 2008. Its now December 2008...does not compute

I was at a small party Saturday night and everyone was pretty wasted. We played mariokart and everyone used the wheels except me, I used the wand/nunchuk. I won every race by almost 1/2 a lap and everyone was screaming bloody murder, saying I was cheating and had to use the wheel. So I did, and came in only 5th place, but my friends came in 10th, 11th, and 12th. Then I told them to bow down and kiss my ass

Damn only April? It seems like we have had the thing a year. But then we did only get the Wii last Christmas. Its been a LONG year.

I dunno what Gunzz was talking about, but its been hard as hell finding Mario Kart anywhere. Heard Wii Fit was a pain in the ass to get too. I know a BUNCH of nongaming friends and coworkers who have a Wii just for the sports games and WiiFit. I'm trying to get them into some of the other more casual games that they would enjoy. I want more people to play AC:WW and SSB:B with online!

i had the low down on when some was going to be at a local store. thats what i was talking about.

gamestop had one copy left and they made me wait in line (3 lines) and i had to be the first person to request it at the register...they wouldnt hand it to me to buy.

the person even told me it was behind the register and even though no body in the store requested the last copy, they still wouldnt let me hold it in my hand nor would they let me pay for it over the phone and pick up later in the day. refuckingtarded

that is their policy. you have to wait in line and request it. first come, first served.

yea, its just more fun to steer... for me. if winning is more fun for you, then i can understand likin the remote/nunchuck combo more. i definitely do better with it. but i just have more fun steering rather than just pushing buttons.
