Wow. Wade and Lebron going at it.

And Wade just blocked the shit out of JJ Hickson...straight up too. That will be on top 10 tomorrow.

Wade, Lebron, and Kobe are interchangeable to me.

Kobe is the best scorer of the three. Lebron is superior athletically to anyone who has played the game...thus he can do things no one else does. And Wade is just Wade....7 steals last night, blocks shots better than any guard in the game, and can still go to the basket just as hard as anyone in the game.

Has there ever been a time where there have been three similar position players who are so close in ability??

Jordan/Drexler/Wilkins??

Dr. J/Gervin/Thompson??

^I was going to say the same thing in my post actually. He was head and shoulders above those two...but they were also pretty awesome.

But Wade/Kobe/Lebron are definitely head and shoulders above the rest of the league.

Then you have Paul/Williams as the top PGs and Howard easily the best center in the league.

you could say Magic/Bird/Jordan in the 80s before Jordan surpassed both of them

Guess I was going for the same position.

Although Kobe is a straight SG, Lebron is pretty much a SF, and Wade handles a lot of the PG duties....I feel like all three are mainly the scoring/shooting guards on their team. Maybe Bird/Johnson/Jordan wer elik

not too far fetched to think that....

Dwade and Lebron could be teammates in a year and a half

Both of their stat lines last night were just sick.

Wade had a lot of turnovers, but he has the ball in his hands about twice as much as Lebron does and was getting double teamed after he passed half court for most of the 4th quarter. Should have had about 12 or 13 assists if his teammates could finish. Would like to see them go on a crazy win streak so he could get heavy MVP consideration.

MVPs are going to be tough to come in the near future with James having a stranglehold on the trophy and players like Paul, Howard, Durant, and Roy probably having a monster season or two to grab some hardware.

The MVP award is a joke!

Kobe, Shaq and Tim Duncan have been the most valuable players in the NBA the last 9 years!

Kobe has 1 MVP
Shaq has 1 MVP
TD has 2 MVPs

There has not been a season in the last 9 years where one of those 3 were NOT the Most Valuable Player in the NBA

lol at Shaq

Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O'Neal ripped his former coach, Stan Van Gundy, on Wednesday after Van Gundy complained about O'Neal flopping the previous night in a loss at Orlando, pulling no punches in one of the stronger diatribes of his 17 1/2 year career.

"I heard his comment. Flopping to me is doing it more than one time, and I realized when I tried to take the charge, as I went down, I realized that that play reminded me of his whole coaching career," O'Neal said of Van Gundy.

Mammoth game tonight between Cavs and Celts

The Cavs need this win to put space between them and the defending champs. The only way the Lebrons are going to beat Boston in a 7 game series is to have home court

I've been saying it to myself for the past two years...but am now not afraid to say it in public...but Deron Williams is just as good, if not better, than Chris Paul...and I love Paul's game.

That...and I think Wade is the MVP this year...although I don't think he'll get it.

D-Williams and CP3 are the 2 very best pgs in the league. I would agree that they are just as good as one another.

As for the MVP, D-wade isnt going to be able to win with his team just 4 games above .500

its still Kobe vs Lebron for the MVP, both will have their teams well over 60 wins

Wade continues this streak, and I think it would be a travesty if he doesn't get the MVP....record be damned.

I give him less then a 10 percent chance

Which is why the NBA needs a "most outstanding player award" as well

Hockey has it and Football has "Offensive and Defensive players of the year"

The same person could win both on some occasions

but the Outstanding player award would just be about numbers and overall dominance

While the MVP will continue to go to the best player on a top 5 team

We've reached a point where we need that differentiation

^Well if you go by Slave's standards, then Nash was pretty deserving, seeing that he was so valuable on one of the best teams at the times (although his 2nd MVP was probably more worthy than the 2nd).

^^In my opinion, the Heat would be one of the worst teams in the league without Wade. They are looking at possibly a first round series with home court advantage with him. The Cavs would still be serviceable and a playoff team without James (maybe)...the Lakers definitely have a strong team regardless of Kobe. So IMO, Wade is still the most valuable of the three. Lebron does make his teammates better, but Wade is still averaging 8 assists a game (and about 11 the past month).

he was the most valuable player that first year in Phoenix IMO

key word being valuable

most outstanding that year was probably Duncan or Shaquille

...and led them to a 7th seed

thus my previous point for a separate Outstanding Player award

Nash wouldn't have won it either year

but there wouldn't have been as much uproar with him winning the MVP

because Shaq/Duncan in 05 and Kobe in 06 would still have gotten recognition

Josh Powell has impressed me to no end!

He has a mid range jumper that I am feel comfortable when I see him take it.

Kobe had 31 in the 2nd half to state his MVP case.

Lets see what he does for an encore tonight against the Spurs!

Yeah...that was a pretty strong second half by Kobe.

Wade had another solid game to beat the Garnett-less Celtics. Putting a nail-in-the-coffin step back three to close out the game.

Does anyone else think that these 2 stats are crazy to think about??

1) Kobe has played more games with the Lakers than MJ did with the Bulls.

2) Phil Jackson has coached more games with the Lakers than any other coach in Laker history.

The Cavs/Lakers battle for top overall seed is going to make these last two weeks pretty interesting...LA has to go through Denver, @Portland, and Utah; Cleveland has to play the Wizards again on Wednesday and take on Boston next week.
