Do you mean tough questions like:

What do you read?

What do you disagree with?

Hard Pressing Questions like that, Palin?

Oof.

Katie Couric just claimed that Palin didn't embarrass herself and her party.

That's an extremely bold claim.

^^ She didn't. Palin set the bar really low for herself and soared over it. But she's running for VP, not for just personal improvement.

I wouldn't say that Biden won this debate...

I'd say that Palin barely even participated in it. She ignored half the questions and just threw out a slew of words...

she started off really bad

but she got more confident and comfortable as it went on... it's kind of disappointing she's been sheltered and defined by a few sound bites because she was really starting completely from scratch tonight

her bar was really low so im sure many will say she won but I thought Biden was clearly the more passionate, caring, strong, and knowledgeable of the two. By a landslide.

I did not see Palin throwing out any numbers.

Biden seemed to know a lot more specifics than she did.

i scored it

biden 12 (15, -3)
palin 7 (12, -5)

I'd say Palin started strong out of the gates then went on a huge slump. She didn't answer questions and would just start talking about random things. Lost the 2nd qtr then won the 3rd qtr and slightly lost the 4th qtr. Biden at times got repetitive and Palin, unlike Mccain but like Obama talked more regular people talk.

Palin had the play of the game though but I forgot the point.

Palin :
"don't let Iran have nuclear energy or weapons"
"don't talk to people that don't like America"
"fuck your debate, i talk about what I want to talk about when i feel like it"

Biden negatives:
"Mccain is the only one that doesn't have an exit plan on the war"->"mccain is no maverick on the war"

she's charismatic as shit, and unfortunately many people don't know a damn thing about politics and see that as a greater attribute than the experience and knowledge Biden possesses.

overall, Palin did better than I expected. I wasn't expecting her to be able to string a coherent sentence together.

Also, did Biden get choked up or what?

Biden won the debate as a whole. More knowledgable, more poised, better spoken, better informed.

But proportionately, Palin won. She had little to lose and a lot to gain, and gain she did. I think she won a lot of moderate conservative vote back. For the most part, I don't think this debate helped change that many minds, but it more likely helped reinforce people's hesitations. Just my opinion.

Whenever she's really threatened by something, she pulls her face back a bit, scrunches her nose up, and pours on the accent even heavier... trying to be "cute" to escape from questions...

Hopefully some average Americans are aware/intelligent enough to spot this and hopefully they despise it to the core as much as I do.

Well I'm definitely surrounded here by Obama supporters, but I'll toss in my observations.

Yes, when it came to giving out talking points, she was stilted and stiff...not a pro at it like Biden. But when she talked off the cuff and used that folksy tone -which drives you all crazy- I think she gained a of of support from regular people.

As much as you won't like it, she scored big points in the fly-over country tonight.

Now with Biden. I really liked his talk about his family and roots. Kind of reminded me that he once, a long time ago, wasn't a senator. I wasn't so worried that he would say something goofy, but that he would slip and start making incorrect statements. Time and research will tell on this.

Palin won

but the vice president constitutional power thing is going to come back to haunt her.

What the fuck was that? It was a bizarre position to take, completely wrong, and has terrible risk/reward as a campaign position.

Kainen, unfortunately, I don't see it that way. She did good enough to get another spike. Chalk it all up to ridiculous...

CBS Poll shows 46-21 % win for Biden among undecided voters. 18% of those are now committed to Obama, 10 to McCain and the rest undecided.

No doubt. So many folks vote based on perceived cultural affiliation. She seems like my kind of person, so I'll vote for her.

Because if the economy doesn't improve, shit's going to get pretty hairy.

NBC seems to be pushing the idea that Palin did better, which is odd, but they also kept mentioning how low expectations were for her.
