Whoa, what the fuck happened in the UNC game. I gave up when they went on that killer run before halftime and just played some Xbox360...

Oh well, I just would've been pissed. At least Duke lost and if UConn beats PeeCee on Saturday (which even the BEST UConn teams have trouble doing for some reason -- BC was always Uconn's bitchass punching bag, but Providence ALWAYS beats them ) they will be #1... Quite a feat for a team that I thought would never get it together two years ago...

Why do teams literally shit themselves when they face UNC and Duke. Wake Forest had a massive diarrhea attack tonight too, but luckily Duke fell asleep at the last second. This doesn't happen against other teams. Just those two...

True... and maybe I think that more because I hate Duke and dislike UNC, but other elite teams don't seem to have that happen as often to me...

And Duke's pressure defense is so good that it forces teams in to that. UNC always looks like teams play "better" against them when they lose because their defense isn't as good as Duke's. But that also misleadingly makes UNC seem "better" than they are in some games.

Does that make sense?

Which is why UNC lost at Wake 92-89, giving up some obscene number to Teague, whereas Duke lost 70-68, giving up only 13 to Teague, and the high scorer for Wake was Aminu with 15. I was at that game tonight (the whole living in Greensboro thing) and, despite my appreciation for their loss, Duke's defense is a thing to behold.

Points allowed isn't really an accurate assessment of defensive prowess when comparing teams that play completely different styles. FG% defense and turnovers forced are most indicative of defensive ability. UNC and Duke are surprisingly similar in both categories.

If Ginyard can return then UNC's defense improves dramatically. He is by far our best perimeter defender and can contain players like Teague. Right now it's pretty much a given that one of the opponent's guards will go for 25+.

i love how UNC fans think Marcus Ginyard is like Scottie Pippen or something... dude is a good defender but somehow in the minds of UNC fans he is the best defender in the league.

I hope FSU wins. Hopefully we can beat VT and extend the buffer between us and GT and UVA. I want a Big Ten OOC game next year to go along with the UF, @ Arizona, and @ Marquette games. Even if it's someone like Penn State, then at least we got a team from one of the big 6 conferences and have another nationally televised game, even if it's on ESPNU.
