Vitale still swears they'll be big in January....

I was hoping UNCG would've kept it little closer against Clemson.

Syracuse did look good though. They were killing the mid-range jumper during the time I watched.

man that was great to watch. Carolina is very overrated, Ol' Roy shouldve taken it easy on all the big men and saved a scholarship for a quality PG.

The Wear brothers look like garbage, whoever said they look like less athletic versions of Tyler Hansbrough yesterday hit the nail on the head

Dude, what the fuck are you talking about? I hate UNC as much as the next guy, but these kids were only in the game 6 minutes and combined for 11 pts. Travis had 8 pts and 3 rebounds... in 6 minutes.

[Edited on November 20, 2009 at 10:02 PM. Reason : actually, 6 minutes could be wrong b/c espn's boxscore isconfused. But it wasn't very long.]

The best part about the Wear brothers is that theyre ahead of John Henson on the depth chart

^^LOL....seriously

I can't wait for the UNC spin that he was recruited as a "project". The kid was number four in the class overall and looks clueless and really just not very good. This won't hurt UNC's recruiting like it would so many schools though. If Duke or State recruited this kid and he sat the bench like this it would be a case of for State: "another player that Sid can't develop or was overrated" and if Duke recruits him, "K never plays freshmen, why would you ever go there?". But with UNC they just keep going...i haven't heard one word about how little he is playing.

Dear Lord I hate UNC but with the way they look right now I think I might enjoy this year more than some

Henson needs to be eating Bojangle's and Cook-out when he's not in practice, class (if he even goes), and the weight room.

he has absolutely no jump shot, and he's too small to play in the post. i imagine someday he'll be pretty good, but it might be a year away

^ lol, look at his videos from high school dude -- he has no problem with his jump shot. They're only a few games into the season and he's a freshman, its going to take him some time to get comfortable. I iterate again, I'm not drinking UNC kool aid, but yall are crazy if you aren't worried about this kid.

there are videos of derrick favors nailing 3s in high school. shit, that 7 foot nigerian made a 3 in his highlight video. key word. highlight

edit: LMAO i just watched one of his youtubes and its just him using his ridiculous length to jam on 5 foot white guys. really nothing special here. i mean, he has potential for sure but this looks NOTHING like a Favors, Cousins, Henry, etc

[Edited on November 21, 2009 at 1:29 PM. Reason : dude looks like a comparable prospect to Ari Stewart IMO]

Not sure if you're aware, but you just compared him to three guys (one of which is a shooting guard??) that would have been 1st round picks out of HS if it weren't for that silly rule.

And here is one with some jump shots for ya http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8ySUVxz-YE. BTW, jump shot doesn't just mean 3 pointer.

From another board...

MIN FGM-A 3PM-A FTM-A OREB REB A S B TO PF PTS
Will Graves, G-F 18 2-12 2-7 2-2 1 4 0 3 0 0 0 8
Larry Drew II, G 25 0-2 0-2 0-0 0 3 6 2 0 2 3 0

Graves is taking more shots than anyone on the team, and Drew is less of an offensive threat than Quentin Thomas. Now we just have to hope they stick to that game plan all year.

I don't know why I'm arguing about this. Just wait until he gets some weight on him and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Cincy looks good, but we'll see what happens when they play a major conference team. Enough with this SoCon, Mac, SEC bullshit.

I'm actually really impressed with Born Ready. I thought he'd be a "me, me, me" guy but he seems to really enjoy playing with his team and is under control and unselfish...

In Sagarin? Yeah... and it's completely and utterly meaningless until everyone is connected... which doesn't happen until about late December/early January.

Honestly if there was ever a single-player basketball team, it was Davidson the past two years with Curry. They basically allowed him to ball hog so much that no of the other players probably developed at all. Oh well I guess Davidson enrollment will go down again.

^haha yeah

Still find it funny that APP was a second thought school until the football program had its recent run of success and now is growing by leaps and bounds. Nothing wrong with it, but it does show how much sports affects an entire university

It's not like Davidson hasn't been in their games this year. They were hanging right with #10 Butler, and even leading them late in the 2nd half, before Butler pulled away at the end. They won't be Curry good, but they might end up winning the SoCon again, even though most people have them at 3rd.

Quote :

Their enrollment never really went up anyways. Maybe the number of applicants did, but not enrollment. Have you ever been on Davidson's campus? Where would they be able to fit any more students than they already have? They've got a tiny, albeit beautiful campus.

^ Their applications did indeed increase. There was a story about it in Kiplinger's Personal Finance a month or two ago. Yeah the enrollment probably stayed the same, but still it goes to show the importance of sports in marketing a university.

Did you even watch Davidson the past couple years? The year they were really good they had several offensive options including the PG Jason Richards and Lovedale who was either a 4 or 5. That was part of why they were so good, because if you keyed on Curry it opened it up for Lovedale in the post or Richards on the perimeter and they could score pretty consistently.

Quote :

I caught most of that game last night...Arizona is certainly not where they are accustomed to being but they showed a lot of mettle last night as they clawed and scratched their way back into the game against Wisconsin. They have a senior PG who is extremely capable, if a bit undersized and a few returning wing players that are decent but not spectacular. Their post players are all freshman, and one is a stud (Derrick Williams, an undersized PF much like Tracy Smith).

Davidson might've been in some games, but they're still 0-4, and not having Curry is obviously the main reason

After watching that game last night I have to strongly disagree...we're significantly more talented at every position than them except the 1. Their perimeter shooting is worse than ours as well.
