but mother fucker when we got up 12 they just stopped calling fouls on Maryland inside. Once again, the game turns on not only a horse shit 3 and 2 banked in free throws, but that fucking jersey pull on Horner pretty much stuck a fork in us. Should have been at the line to get it back to 6 and they go hit a pull up 3 in transition. I'm sick and fucking tired of having calls go against us like that in every god damn game...and you can point to one or more in almost every game this season.



And as I said, we should be able to overcome the shit calls with some good guard play, but we're not that good right now, and it pisses me off on principle more than anything. Its just plain disrespect from the officials at this point.

tracy had a pathetic game too. even sid called him out in the post-game interview for not following the game plan (which was to repost once he kicked the ball back out. said he wasn't physical enough.)

then wood all but called out his teammates for not driving, drawing, and dishing, which was the game plan that worked in the first half. then degand, mays, and javi stopped doing it in the second. you could tell wood was pretty pissed.

I don't get why we stopped trying to penetrate at all. Degand broke down his man a few times to get some good looks at the basket in the 1st half and then didn't do anything in the 2nd half. Mays hit a garbage time 3, turned it over a few times and Javi was just unnoticeable tonight.

degand did not break down his man in the first half. maryland had mosley (or whoever was guarding him at the time) sag off him a ridiculous amount to help double down on smith. they used this same strategy in the first game. the difference is that in the first game degand continually threw up bricks on wide open looks. today he drove in to the wide open lane created by the gigantic gap in their defense (progress!). unfortunately, maryland altered their defense and took that away. it's similar to how duke let javi score 18 points when he sucked as a freshman.

yea, the reason we lost was the dribbling...standing around and sticking our thumbs up our ass on the perimeter in the second half.

Wood is right...dribbling and kicking out is the key...so is making shots.
