Great weekend for the Braves, held the Phillies to just 5 runs in 3 games all while playing in that little league park. Beat two of the vaunted big 4 in Lee and Hamels as well. Sucks that the one game they should have won, facing Kyle Kendrick, they got shutout.

Future looks bright for the pitching staff with Hanson, JJ, Beachy, Teheran, Kimbrel, Venters, O'Flaherty, maybe even Minor.

Kimbrel still looks like the best closer we've had in years, but he is dangerously shitty when his control is off like it was last night.

Not good on Heyward, but maybe it explains his lack of production. He seems to be injury prone.

If he goes out for a while, I assume the Braves will go with Hinske and Mather in right? Defensively we'd be beyond horrible with Hinske, but his bat/OBP would be an upgrade over Heyward right now. Mather getting significant PT would be a big blow to the lineup. Hopefully Gonzalez can get back into the lineup tonight because Hernandez is the suck.

Also looks like Moylan could be out for a long time Back surgery likely.

^ I hope that cortizone shot works because that shoulder has been bothering him for 6 weeks which means it isn't getting better by taking a couple days off. I am surprised it wasn't something more severe.

Great comeback last night. How demoralizing would it have been to take a weekend series in Philly only to follow up by getting swept at home by the Nats. Prado is easily my favorite Brave now. Amazing how he has made himself into a complete player after not being hyped much coming out of the minors. Another big series this weekend.

^yeah. I remember his first 2-3 years he was used as a spot player and would come back and forth from Richmond to Atlanta a time or two a year. Then one year he just started raking and its continued since then. Now he is one of the most important pieces to this team.
