wtf? I don't remember ever hearing this.
http://www.newsobserver.com/2010/11/18/809909/court-deal-for-pack-receiver.html
Quote : | "Court deal for Pack receiver
N.C. State senior wide receiver Darrell Davis, who sat out the Wolfpack's last two games for what coach Tom O'Brien has called a "coach's decision," has entered a deferred prosecution agreement on misdemeanor drug charges.
Davis was charged at 12:31 a.m. on April 10 with marijuana possession and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, according to a citation at the Wake County Court.
On Aug. 12, he entered the First Offender Drug Education Program, according to court records. In exchange for the deferral of criminal charges against him, Davis admitted his guilt and agreed to participate in drug education, court records show.
"We're aware of it, and appropriate action has been taken," O'Brien said Wednesday afternoon in a statement.
Davis has 14 receptions for 162 yards and two touchdowns this season.
O'Brien has declined to say whether Davis will play in N.C. State's game Saturday's at North Carolina, which kicks off at noon. O'Brien said he will wait until game day to announce that." |

^4 Yates has not been that bad this year. He is slipping as of late, but if our D cannot get to him in the backfield and we cannot contain him when he scrambles. We could get lit up. He has proven this year that he has the POTENTIAL to do that.
Also a good part from Call of the Wild by Jack London. This is the kind of kill attitude we need this weekend.
"At the mouth of the Tahkeena, one night after supper, Dub turned up a snowshoe rabbit, blundered it, and missed. In a second the whole team was in full cry. A hundred yards away was a camp of the Northwest Police, with fifty dogs, huskies all, who joined the chase. The rabbit sped down the river, turned off into a small creek, up the frozen bed of which it held steadily. It ran lightly on the surface of the snow, while the dogs ploughed through by main strength. Buck led the pack, sixty strong, around bend after bend, but he could not gain. He lay down low to the race, whining eagerly, his splendid body flashing forward, leap by leap, in the wan white moonlight. And leap by leap, like some pale frost wraith, the snowshoe rabbit flashed on ahead. All that stirring of old instincts which at stated periods drives men out from the sounding cities to forest and plain to kill things by chemically propelled leaden pellets, the blood lust, the joy to kill--all this was Buck's, only it was infinitely more intimate. He was ranging at the head of the pack, running the wild thing down, the living meat, to kill with his own teeth and wash his muzzle to the eyes in warm blood. There is an ecstasy that marks the summit of life, and beyond which life cannot rise. And such is the paradox of living, this ecstasy comes when one is most alive, and it comes as a complete forgetfulness that one is alive. This ecstasy, this forgetfulness of living, comes to the artist, caught up and out of himself in a sheet of flame; it comes to the soldier, war-mad on a stricken field and refusing quarter; and it came to Buck, leading the pack, sounding the old wolf-cry, straining after the food that was alive and that fled swiftly before him through the moonlight. He was sounding the deeps of his nature, and of the parts of his nature that were deeper than he, going back into the womb of Time. He was mastered by the sheer surging of life, the tidal wave of being, the perfect joy of each separate muscle, joint, and sinew in that it was everything that was not death, that it was aglow and rampant, expressing itself in movement, flying exultantly under the stars and over the face of dead matter that did not move.".....
..."The rabbit could not turn, and as the white teeth broke its back in mid air it shrieked as loudly as a stricken man may shriek. At sound of this, the cry of Life plunging down from Life's apex in the grip of Death, the fall pack at Buck's heels raised a hell's chorus of delight."...
..."In a flash Buck knew it. The time had come. It was to the death."

what's protocol for sitting in UNC's student section band section? my friend got us tickets, but i'm a little doubtful that they would let us into the student section, or even into the stadium without a student id. do they not check over yonder?. i've never seen an opposing team fan in the ncsu student section.
re: message_topic.aspx?topic=604940
edit: apparently i don't listen to my wife. we're in the band section not the student section. question still stands, for curiosity sake

^^We were basically a brand new "rinky dink" a&m school w/ no football program whatsoever...it took us a while to consistently compete w/ the more established UNIVERSITY
that was in the beginning...more stuff later obviously below this post.

Total Wolfpack wins in the series: 30 Total won in Carter Finley: 13 Total won in Kenan Stadium: 17
or just tell them, that from 1955-2009 the overall record is 25-30. so we are basically at a tie for the last 50 years. if you go back before that (before the 1950's) we only won 3 games in the series during the first 24 matchups b/c basically our college was still a 'wofford' or 'jmu' by todays standards." |
I'm also pretty sure that during World War II UNC and Duke were part of the V-12 program, which allowed them to plug in much more talented players, while NCSU's male population was decimated by those who had gone off to war.
I seem to remember going back through old scores from that period, and we regularly got murdered...most of which was due to us fielding teams of scrawny kids compared to the other schools.11/18/2010 10:49:48 AM |

the all-time record is meaningless anyways, if all UNC fans have to gloat about is 'we used to beat you a lot 100 years go!' then I'm happy

honestly i don't mind if they want to put this game into TJ Yates throwing arm for the 4th year in a row.
year 1> couldn't complete 1 of 4 passes on the 1st and goal chance they had at carter finley to end the game and win.
year 2> threw the back breaking pick in the 4th quarter on their own 20 yard line that sealed the game (if it wasn't already over)
year 3> threw the ball away on 4th down when they had a chance to close the game out against us early in the 3rd quarter, then threw a pick to end the game and put us in the V formation.
year 4> BUTCH/YATES, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ADD TO THIS LIST
