Dare county leo channels are all now encrypted, and maybe even some other changes as I don't even get the tg showing up on the scanner anymore. Just fire/ems/rescue, and busses. 9/14/2015 7:41:04 PM |

In the past I've had Yaesu HT's. I could always hit 146.880, 146,640, and 145.210 from here in Wake Forest. Since I got the Beofeng for Christmas I've tried to hit all the. If local repeaters with no luck.
I've messed with the access tones, and the pos/neg offsets but still can't seem to key anything up. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong? Maybe the frequency offset? 12/26/2015 8:57:25 AM |

Is there a digital scanner (mobile or HT) that can be programmed and knows what to scan based on GPS? I want something for some road trips coming up but I'm not sure what to search for (i.e. I see that some units have GPS, but I don't know enough about digital systems to know what i need)
I am looking at the HP-1 and HP-2, but is there anything less expensive?

Oh we back.
Sorry I have been away for so long. Been busy with our P25 conversion and then working on DMR/MotoTRBO reception in scanner beta testing.
Been far too long Tdubb.
a quick shot of my desk at the shop:

^ Nah. The city has it set up just for the basic twisted pair config. No interface to our radio system at all.
I personally hate the phone as none of the ringers are loud enough for an environment where I have 4-5 radios on at all times.
We are *hopefully* testing out Motorola's WAVE service soon which allows interop between our radio system and smartphones. That would be an awesome feature to have for admin staff that don't want to carry a radio all the time everywhere.

My buddies convinced me to get into it. Now I have a Beofeng, Yeaseu FT5, and a DMR radio. 10/12/2023 10:29:57 PM |
