If I wanted advice on how to get my sirloin cooked at Applebees I'd go to Mike Hogewood. Guy has 30 years worth of experience at eating at chain restaraunts on the road and having guys who are hard on their luck buy him $1.75 drafts .

I'm sure he remembers Rodney Monroe's 48 point game, Randolph Childress single handedly wining the ACC tournament, etc.

But do you think he honestly knows anything more about this 7-8 Georgia Tech team than you do?

You're impressed because a 22 year old production assistant whispered in his ear 5 minutes before tip-off that GT has made the least amount of 3's in the ACC and that he has a buy one get one free coupon at Edwards Mill Bar and Grill if they want to go halfsies?

I'd have a good time playing poker with a guy like Hogewood, but I wouldn't want to talk sports with him. You mean to tell me a guy who spends his Friday nights reporting on De-Quan La'Joie scoring 4 TD's on only 6 receptions versus Cary Academy knows anything about variance? Can he identify an outlier in a pinch?
