totally true, but one or two dominant pitchers alone won't get you far in the regular season, whereas they can almost single handedly carry you through the post season.

likewise, a fantastic offensive team w/o pitching that mows through the regular season, can be ineffective against dominant pitchers with a sub par offense in the postseason.
