Somebody let me know when reverend jackson and sharpton get involved with this. They never cease to capitalize on these type of opportunities. It was humorous listening to Bob & the Showgram this morning when they were talking about this issue. I also agree with previous poster that the lapel of the jacket and the fat tie was a horrible touch. It really makes me doubt the plantiff's credibility and judgement.

i was so disappointed they were supposed to have the guy and his lawyers on the show but at the last minute they clammed up

btw i kinda side with bob, too much race being played by default, but he seemed under the assumption that this bar had always had a membership and i think he changed his perspective a little bit

You mean the suspicious focus on "Raleigh" in the shirt?

It's opportunism and it's not. The fact that WRAL did the story in 2001 shows that anytime in the last 11 years would probably have been sufficient for this issue. Could he not have gotten kicked out on another occasion? Maybe if they were trying to pinpoint a replicable behavior they should have... actually replicated it and had the cameras rolling when they did.

The lawsuit is weak sauce. So is the shirt, and the protest will probably be too. They tried their darnedest to write wording about discrimination in the lawsuit, "ethnic intimidation", but it won't hold. The only grounds they have is assault, and I imagine Mr. Wall went through with it due to the strong urging of people around him.

It's true that whites have more privilege due to the fact they're white, but a number of types of people are born silver-spoon in hand. The public should judge Mr. Wall, not on his accomplishments, but the integrity or lack thereof he showed in handling this issue. If you read the legal case he filed, it's slimy.

We shouldn't make a debate about privilege at all. It creates a particularly toxic kind of divisiveness. We should not ask any group to give up privilege as a benevolent act, because they will never do that. I am much more comfortable in the assumption that people are self-interested, but this is convenient for my world view because I think an egalitarian, merit-based, society is better for everyone including the so-called-privileged.

it makes a little more sense why he got headlocked. If he denied the guy entry, that means he probably never verified his age, so on that point if i were the doorman he would have to leave immediately and if he was being cute "waiting for his friend" or checking his phone as he is "leaving" that becomes annoying because youve got other things to do as a bouncer especially if you are working alone

itd be different if maybe the bouncer missed him and he wound up in there, or in fair play the kid snuck in the backdoor, then the bouncer would probably ask for the ID to make sure he was allowed to be there. But if im not mistaken, john tresspassed after being denied entry and admitted it.

i missed that part. if so, they had every right to be forcefully removed. although pretty much every person i've seen thrown out of a bar basically gets bear-hugged and carried/thrown out, not headlock/full nelson.

they don't deserve any sympathy for trespassing in a private establishment. If you feel like you're getting unfairly denied entry, go talk to the news stations. They love doing undercover shit like that.
