so we are penalizing Lebron for not playing college when he was league ready, I repeat LEAGUE READY, coming out of high school?

maybe for titles and awards

but definitely not for stats when Kobe played an extra 2.5 seasons and Lebron an extra 2 seasons worth of games

that graphic punishes Jordan for going to college. Games played is a better comparison.

Either way jordan will have less games played because he played baseball.

can we make a Summer League thread?

if not, I want to say that Michael Carter-Williams is going to win ROY

Thats my point. So even if you say wait a few years past 28 then Jordan loses more years to baseball before he regains the 18-21 college years. Jordan's career will undoubtedly be shorter and its safe to say that if Lebron continues to play and doesn't make a similar move or just break down his body, Jordan's legacy will forever be tarnished by wasting all of those years.

Maybe. But Jordan's 3 years in college had him playing 30-40 games a year

Lebron, at age 18-21, was playing 80-90 games per year

Who is to say Lebron will be playing when he is 39 years old?

And Jordan only played baseball for 1-1.5 years. His "wasted" years are more likely when he retired for 3 years, because he was just better than everybody and didn't have anything else to prove

A more important reason is he needed time to recover from losing his father.

Kobe actually had three rings when he was TWENTY-THREE!!!

In terms of the Jordan-LBJ debate, all I want to say is that Lebron is as good of a defender, if not better than Jordan. tke dude made it out like Jordan was head and shoulders above LBJ defensively which is just plain stupid.

Also I'd like to point out that Lebron actually rebounds and passes, which Jordan never did well and LBJ is a good 3 pt shooter (even with the extended three point arc) and Jordan was a mediocre 3 pt shooter at best.

Lebron attempted more threes in his first 5.5 seasons than Jordan attempted in his entire 15 year career

just going back to the stats graphic on the previous page. there's a reason LBJ has made more 3's than Jordan

and there isn't a huge gap between their 3P%. Jordan .327 and LBJ .337

He had a pretty big gambling problem. In fact, it was probably so big that some unpaid debts got his dad killed. However, I don't think Stern gave a shit, considering half of his referees were fixing games.

He hasnt recovered from playing all last season on plantar fascitis. Very debilitating. He sucked this year why would anyone want him right now at his current contract?

Lbj is clearly superior to Jordan at the peak of his career there is no argument. Kobe isnt even in the discussion. Now just have to see if LeBron wins the longevity debate too

the west is getting incredibly loaded again like it was a few years ago even without the lakers, SA, GS, clips, rockets, OKC could all make the finals (although OKC confuses me, they confused me a little bit even when they had harden because they had three guys scoring like every point and now that they don't have harden or martin and still have no offensive role players at all I don't know)

Explain to me how Jordan is somehow superior to James defensively? Yes Jordan got a lot of steals, but LBJ guards all 5 positions and still generates high steal and block rates for his size.

Also Jordan and LBJ have similar 3 pt % at this point only because LBJ was woeful his first couple years. He's now a 40% shooter and shooting at a much deeper range than Jordan ever had to.

Jordan might not have been able to guard a power forward or center (though Lebron can't exactly handle Howard or Hibbert 1-on-1 himself), but he could absolutely lock down any 1, 2 or 3. I know he hasn't played in 10 years, and 10 years ago he was "Wizards Jordan", but if "Bulls Jordan" didn't want somebody to score, they weren't gonna score

we can talk about this until we are blue in the face. Mike and Lebron not only played two different positions (a given) but their games/the way they played are like night and day. Oil and water. they even played defense different imo. Mike always shot the rock more often than not. he was a amazing shooter. Lebron is more of scorer and set a man up player. It amazes me that lebron is in talks for the league leading scorers about every year. I think he won it one year.

I think Mike was craftier around the rim but if you give him the a slight lane he's dunking on your face. He always went to the foul line. ALWAYS it felt like. I think Mike and Lebron play the passing lanes extremely well, mike had the advantage b/c of his smaller frame and quickness.

Wow lakers cut artest instead of kobe then sign kaman.

Lol makes no sense. They save no money and now REALLY suck. Theyre a 25-30 win team now probably.

If they can trade nash or gasol they have a shot at Wiggins.

And if Sacramento signs ellis they wont win 20 games next year. That franchise is terrible.

AK47 signs with Brooklyn

Heat/Bulls/Pacers/Nets in the East

Thunder/Clippers/Rockets/Spurs/Grizzlies in the West

Timberwolves/Cavs/Wizards hoping to overcome youth and injury and catapult into the playoffs

the Knicks/Lakers traveling circus

and a quarter of the league committing competitive suicide trying to position themselves for the allegedly/potentially best draft class in a decade

season ended less than a month ago and I already can't wait for play to resume
