Parker? McDermott? Smart? Tyler Ennis? I'd honestly take TJ over all those guys. 2/11/2014 10:44:46 PM |

TJ reminds me of Julius Hodge where once he gets in the lane he rarely misses shots around the basket. Both are forwards who are/were amazing finishers in the paint 2/11/2014 11:25:09 PM |

hes a freak. Better than Hodge at scoring although Hodge was a good assist man and played in a different system. Prolly the best player we've had since the late 80's/early 90's. Just sick. 2/12/2014 12:05:28 AM |

Hodge was the ultimate leader. His heart was bigger than his talent -- even though he had a pretty good skill set. If he had a consistent jump shot, he would have been unstoppable.
TJ is in another ballpark though. He's not as tenacious as Hodge was, but he's a much better scorer. He just makes it look so easy. 2/12/2014 12:22:28 AM |

Yeah, definitely not saying Hodge was as good of a scorer than TJ because TJ is a better scorer and outside shooter than Hodge was. I am just saying once Hodge was in the paint he finished so well just like TJ does. 2/12/2014 12:38:32 AM |

Hodge could create his own shot (or have the ball at the top of the key and drive to the hole). TJ scores a different way through open shots/screens/putbacks. Both are great players with different skillsets.2/12/2014 8:05:36 AM |

Hodge's defense and heart are the two things that still separate him from TJW, but #TonyBuckets is definitely closing the gap between the 24s.
We could field a damn all star team with #24s. Hodge, Warren, Richter, Gugliotta, Burleson.

^^ I honestly don't remember Hodge's defense well enough after almost 10 years, but was he really that much better? I feel like Warren plays pretty solid D for a star and I'm pretty sure that his steals and rebounds are higher than Hodge's and I'd imagine they were pretty close on blocks, although stats don't tell you everything. 2/12/2014 2:42:08 PM |

Hodge was a great facilitator. The offense ran through him and he averaged 5 assists per game as a senior. He was a ball-dominant SF, pretty much the opposite of Warren in that respect. 2/12/2014 3:01:13 PM |

Found an interesting post on PP about TJ Warren vs Jamie Luckie
Quote : | "I also checked in the games that Luckie officiated this year. Let's look at the players who fouled out: Central: - Warren, Lee, Turner, Freeman fouled out, Anya and Lewis had four. - Central had one player foul out and 4 guys with 4
Pitt: - NC State had 5 guys with 3 fouls. Warren was one of those 3. - Pitt had 1 player with 3 fouls.
Wake Forest (loss): - NC State had Warren foul out and had Vandy, Washington and Freeman with 4. - Wake had four guys with 4.
FSU: - NC State had Warren foul out and had Turner and Vandy with 4. - FSU had no one with over 3.
Clemson: - Warren had 4. - No one on Clemson had over 3.
So, let's look at the trends.
Fouling out: NC State - 6. Opponents - 1. Four fouls (outside of anyone who fouled out): NC State -- 8 players. Opponents -- 8 players. Basically a wash. Warren's average fouls under Luckie: 17 total fouls so average of 4.2 fouls per game. Warren's average fouls in all other games: 47 total fouls so average of 2.24 fouls per game
If we can't look at those things and see Luckie's impact, then........" |
