I'm calling 10-6.

If just a couple of breaks fall our way in close games this year we could do better. The front seven on defense should help some of that late game derpiness that haunted them last season. It's really amazing how many times we clutched defeat from the jaws of victory and still managed 7 wins.

The only unknown that could derail that is Rivera's coaching (or lack thereof). We have the players to get it done though in my opinion.

I'm glad they're not stupid enough to run shit like that in the preseason and voluntarily get our QB hit when the games don't matter.

It isn't even that big of a difference maker. We really didn't get it together on offense last year until they finally chilled out on calling that a 3rd of the time and started stretching the field.

Yeah experts are giving us a decent shot for the upset, but mainly they accredit it to jet lag and Seahawks injuries along the DL.

Depends which version of Cam we get. First 6 games of last season, or last 6 games.

So real talk, the defense is legit and Ginn looks like a real threat on special teams. Defense and the kicking game will keep them in most games and give them a chance to win ugly. Offensively, Panthers are a complete fucking mess. Their only good offensive lineman under 30 is a freaking center. Armanti Edwards made the final cut as a WR, so that unit is terrible. The running backs are either injured or suck. Coaching wise, Rivera is an idiot and Shula thinks they're the 2008 Colts on offense. Chud may have over complicated things last year, but Shula is just totally overmatched as an OC. They need to find creative ways to work around our weaknesses, or Cam is just going to be running around throwing the ball into the dirt or getting clobbered the whole season.

With all that said, the defense gives them a chance to go 9-7 with a little luck, but under .500 again is a real possibility.

Let's all keep in mind when people are shitting on Shula that he had absolutely nothing to work with in Tampa

His QB's were Shaun King and Trent Dilfer and that vaunted WR core included Reidel Anthony, Jaquiz Green, Bert Emanuel, and Courtney Hawkins.

There isn't a single OC in the game that could make that group look good.

Shula will be fine. It really all comes down to Cam and if he's hitting his targets. He was pretty awful last year against Seattle and we still almost won. IIRC, he had a guy open in the end zone for a TD but underthrew him badly.

Everything else looks to be good. Defense should be really good, special teams should be just fine, offensive line will be good enough, and we've got a few weapons on offense. Just need Cam to hit his throws and make some plays, and the Panthers will surprise some people this year.

In tecmo 3 deion sanders was a free agent and you could pick him up for $290. Problem is that youd have to cut basically your whole team to grab him if you were the panthers because the players were rated SO low. They made us terrible. Mike fox was worth like 150 but that only got you halfway there and left you almost nothing but mills, kragen, and maxie to defend with.

Offensive line and reveivers were a joke. Reich sucked. Pretty much stuck running barry foster for 2.5 yards per carry.
