I have to agree with what face said. We are a better "team" this year IHB
Brown had to leave as he was old. Plus Lewis would have transferred if he had stayed b/c all the backup minutes would go to cat.
Leslie just had to go too. It was best for the team as he just didn't seem coachable.
We all need to remember how inexperienced this group is. Only three in the rotation and a few walk ons have had game experience here. you really can't say that JV even played with Lewis and warren last year either so this is a true rebuilding year.
I'm pretty satisfied with the record. We should have beaten nccu regardless of how the game was called but that's it. All of our games will be tough and "exciting" that's for sure. 12/31/2013 11:43:49 AM |

You can see flashes of real potential in Washington and Anya, but it won't click for them until they get more experience. Freeman is shaping up to be a poor man's Richard Howell. Once those guys come into their own, this team will be a force. It might happen in the second half of ACC play, or it might not happen until next season. But when it does, we'll be a tough team to beat. 12/31/2013 11:55:51 AM |

Also, it's not fair to compare Face to The E Man. Face is like Jordan Belfort. He's a rockstar troll. The Wolf of the Wolfweb. 12/31/2013 11:59:17 AM |

Quote : | "face's last post was fucking money. Earl's last two posts resulted in a lower IQ for all who read them.
Seriously Earl keeps bringing up guys leaving for the draft and Purvis being a selfish bitch as a reason to get rid of Gott. Not every coach is going to be Coach K and get all his talent to stick around for 3-4 years. CJL leaving last year was his best move and he got paid. Brown had no choice really as he was already 22 and knew he wasn't getting drafted with this monster class next year. Purvis can eat a dick for transferring when he would have gotten 25-30 mpg this season. Can't blame Gott for any of those losses. And you can't blame him when Warren leaves." |
First of all, all but the last sentence (about JMM) of face's post was a rewording of the same points I've been making so maybe you just don't understand some sarcasm.
I could say something and you guys will say its stupid trolling just because I usually spin it as a fault of your beloved head coach (who is ultimately responsible for everything whether its his fault or not) but then others could come right in and make the same points but spin them solely as the fault of the kids and they are dead on. The biggest mistake you guys are making is blaming kids for their mistakes. This is amateur athletics. All of the mistakes can only be blamed on the professional coaches who these kids are signing their lives over to. Maybe I'm just bound to always be the odd one out on this issue because of the first hand experiences I have with college basketball players and coaches.
Second of all, you guys are all assuming that a players career is determined by where they are drafted. This is not entirely true. If a player is not ready to play at that level, getting there early could prevent his growth and make the initial contract, his only contract.
To players that love the game, career longevity is much more important that securing one good initial contract. A player like JMM will have the skills to stay on an NBA roster instead of just making one. Five years from now, CJL may very well be forgotten (still could work his way back out of a pool of hundreds of players trying to get to the nba from europe) while JMM will probably still be on an NBA roster.
By that time, a player who stayed in school and developed a full array of skills will be an experienced veteran in the NBA.
YES, a player can still learn how to play basketball after college but it is an entirely different atmosphere and pace. That is like putting a 9th grader straight to college courses because he could still learn everything he needs to know in college. THE PACE IS ENTIRELY DIFFERENT and a colllege professor isn't going to help you with study habits or time management.
When players arrive in the NBA, Dleague or europe, those franchises have much less interest in developing their long-term skills than do college coaches because if a player is not what htey want, they can just toss them aside, and work with a new crop of players. There are so many players coming in from college every year and also international. There is no point in wasting time one someone who can't make a basic jumpshot or defend their position if they aren't a star in the making.12/31/2013 3:36:23 PM |

I don't know what a student pin # is. I graduated in May but can't remember anything about a pin. Is that not your student ID #? 1/1/2014 4:07:49 PM |
