Ludachris knows what hes talking about. I felt like most of our best players were so0homores last year which means next year should be the best year 2016. It will be the first year with a full team of his guys.

Mitchell is not great. Hes just a slightly above average qb with a below average arm.

Suspend for obvious trolling attempt with the inability to remember the QB's name.

Earl will hate this team until they lose game #7, which is when he will proclaim his love for Doeren, but if we have a winning record, he'll keep this up.

How dare i type the wrong name after just reading a long post tgat mentioned bm as well?

^you couldnt be more wrong. Maybe you are confused with basketball. I have been one of the few people who havr stayed the course with dd all along. Last season i was being called a troll when we were barely losing to the best teams in the conference and no one ever made the effort to go back and give me credit for being reasonable all along once we started winning. Go back and look at the dd credibility thread posts from last year. Everyone was calling for his head but i stayed the course.

I just noticed that the ClemPson game is on Halloween. I dont recall this happening before, but Im sure it has. I wonder if they will do a night game, which would be awesome, but a lot of ppl would be trick-or-treating with their kiddo's, or if they'll do it early so families can do both.

Thoughts....

Not sure what time the game will be but if Watson is still healthy, it's going to be a horror show for our fans that's for sure.

I went back several decades in the schedule (until i got bored) & couldn't find a home game on Halloween. There were several away games, but the times weren't listed except one that was at noon.

The game will sell out. Don't kid yourself.

I do remember the Rivers-Schaub shootout in 2003 being on Nov. 1st, so there were certainly Halloween parties afterward.

I also vaguely remember being at a game against UVa 1993 that we attended the same day as the school Halloween carnival or something, but turns out that was the 30th.

Seems like there's always some major upset on Halloween when it does fall on Saturday, so we've got that going for us.

it'll be a sellout regardless. if it were a team like Cuse or BC or a OOC cupcake, you might see a dip in attendance (maybe not, idk). But for clemson it'll be a sellout i'm sure.

^our d wasn't awful last year, and at times was pretty solid. i think the secondary should be pretty good. the DL should be good too. depth at the linebacker position is a concern, but i think our defense can definitely be pretty good.

My wife's a Tennessee grad and her brother-in-law a USC fan. They normally schedule their games on Halloween and we always try to go. It's usually a really fun time. People getting hammered and trying to dress up and wear school colors at the same time. Tennessee's orange uniforms also help out.

That Clemson game is on Halloween and its homecoming IIRC. If we can get out to a good start and get a good kickoff time that game should be pretty awesome (provided it is nothing like last year's game at Clemson).

To be fair to Frasier, there's a video out there where he's even with Hines in a bunch of speed/agility drills. The kid is a going to be a beast for us.

Meh, looks like the Eddie Lacy picture that popped up his rookie year where everyone said he was "fat" and then he played great.

Frasier is physically ready to contribute this year, just has to get the playbook and pass-protection elements down. I'd be surprised if he doesn't see the field this season.

Barring injury, I wouldn't be surprised if Gallaspy and Frasier redshirt. CDD mentioned Gallaspy redshirting in a recent interview. I would imagine that Frasier would do the same, especially since Gallaspy has had more time with the team.

Or maybe Samuels plays more of a tight end role and Frasier could play that FB role that Samuels played last year?

^^ There's a higher probability of neither redshirting than both redshirting. Gallaspy enrolled early and has a better feel of the offense (besides being physically ready...and Frasier is just a man-child. Injuries happen and we use a lot of backs...plus there is special teams.

I think its possible that Frasier redshirts just because of the whole "learning the offense" thing...but it's going to be hard to keep that guy off the field. Samuels might take a lot of touches, but very few of them will be straight hand-offs...so I wouldn't look at him as an obstacle to Frasier and Gallaspy getting field time.

I know that Gallaspy is good, but I don't see him beating Shad or Dayes for field time. Frasier is kind of an unknown at this level. Due to his size, I could see him getting time as a FB with Shad or Dayes on the field.

How often do programs at our level really have the luxury to redshirt a 5* player? Wouldn't surprise me if he didn't commit with the understanding he wouldn't have to redshirt.

Hines will be a gadget RB/WR player, we have 2 really good veteran RBs, a running QB, and a freak FB/TE hybrid, I really think we're going to run the ball a LOT this year.

I'd love to redshirt as many players as we can, esp. given the amount of talent we have at the position right now.

last year we managed to play 3 RBs - granted, Creecy was a senior (no option to redshirt) and his touches were limited a lot. no reason we wouldn't do the same this year, right? plus, having more weapons allows you to open up the offense even more. i'm not expecting great things out of true freshmen RB, but i do think they'll play this year.

I think Dayes will be split out a lot more this year as well (he caught a ton of passes last year). Our WRs are our weak point, so we'll be using guys like Hines, Dayes, and Samuels a lot in the passing attack. Dayes will still get his carries, but I think a few of his carries will go to Frasier/Gallaspy...as well as Creecy's carries.

I'm sure one could redshirt...I'm just saying it's definitely not 100%.

yeah Dayes was really good catching passes out of the backfield. less of a traditional RB in that sense.

Problem we're going to be using Dayes, Hines, and Samuels out of the backfield to catch passes, still going to need a few WRs to step up and just be serviceable. We don't need Torry Holt out there, just need some guys to keep the defense from loading the box every down.

Cherry looked great the USF game - then again i guess our entire team looked great vs USF. then he seemed to kinda disappear for a while. Alston seemed to come on stronger toward the end of the year, IIRC.

edit: ok i guess Alston didn't really come on that strong at the end of the year. he had a nice bowl game but didn't even record any stats in the 2 games prior to that.

He bench presses 445 pounds. He squats more than 700 pounds. His power-clean is in the neighborhood of 335 pounds. And he’s a 38.5-inch vertical to go with it.

“I believe I’m the strongest guy on the team,” Street said."

I think Hines will be used very similar to how Tremain Hall was used back in the day....

He will run, but will also be used a lot more in screen passes and in the slot. I know Hall didn't run really, but I think he will be used in the passing attack like that.
