I got an olympic weight bench with 300lbs for Christmas and an EZ-Curl bar. I'm fuckin stoked.
Now my home gym consists of the bench (flat and incline), the curl bar, a dip station, and an iron gym (pull ups). Since there's no easy to use doorway for that I might install a different pull-up bar in the door that goes to the garage instead. 12/28/2010 11:11:02 AM |

^^ I'm looking to grab one of those "power towers" in SC where I live soon. That is the last piece I am wanting and that will fit in my home gym at the moment. Such a great deal on those things usually since they have no moving parts. Being able to have pullups, dips, leg lifts all one thing is always great. I always use the one at the gym we currently go to.
The wife's and my home gym is shaping up pretty nice:
-Really good treadmill -Good quality recumbent schwinn exercise bike -Olympic bench with 300lbs -Curling bar -10 & 15 lb medicine balls -3 adjustable dumbbell weights -Iron gym -Various resistance bands
If I can get a good deal on one of the "power towers" then we should be set (I know, I know, not a lot of leg stuff at home but I can make it work with the hand-weights and plates). As soon as I get one I am going to cancel our gym membership.
Just got a 32" tv and roku box for netflix and pandora in the gym too. Now I just have to paint, mount the tv, put the impact flooring down and arrange all the equipment in the room...

Nah, its not like those. Its a bare bones dip station, about 5 feet tall with grips on the top and grips near the bottom. I might get some impact flooring too, but my parents also gave me my grandparent's old rug to use in the weight room
We also have an older exercise bike, a few resistance bands, 25lb weight vest, x2 5lb hand weights and the aforementioned Kinect fitness game, lol. My next crucial buy will be weight plates and bars for making dumbbells. I'm not really a fan of adjustable weights. Then sometime after that a good quality treadmill.
Once I get everything set up I might take a picture. 12/28/2010 1:23:05 PM |

^ def do. I plan to do that as well but ours won't be super pretty. All the equipment is going in a 10x12 room so I had to really engineer the layout to get everything spaced and angled the right way haha. For more aerobic stuff we're going to use the bonus/media room. 12/28/2010 1:30:57 PM |

I would go squat cage like at NCSU with a bench that can be adjusted. 300lbs and one Olympic bar.
would be all i need.

Yeah, well maybe they should have moved when we did. That way I wouldn't have to drive 25 minutes to them. 12/28/2010 4:25:34 PM |

Well I was eating like crazy trying to bulk up and got to about 178-179. That's higher than I wanted but perhaps it was unavoidable. My waistline was expanding and my pants felt tighter. So I've cut 4 or 5 pounds in the past 6 weeks and I'm 174-175. Pants fit better now. I'm pretty happy with what I have going on now and I just want to maintain where I'm at. I don't have a gym membership at this point and I've been doing calisthenics twice a week for the past 9 months or so.
