This. I have the P9 which is just the same gun with a more expensive name and love it. However I currently don't have a holster for that one so I'm still carrying my XD9sc and have had no issues with it and love the capacity. I know none of the ranges around where I live offer any Kahrs for rent, might be the same there but try to find one to shoot somehow.11/10/2010 8:57:35 AM |

The CW9 is a very nice pistol.
They are quality.
The takedown lever edge should be reduced a bit for comfort. It's rather sharp from the factory. 11/10/2010 7:30:03 PM |

im in the market for a rifle
would I be well served waiting for the dixie show coming up or would I get the same deals elsewhere and not have to wait? I dunno how prices are out there. 11/12/2010 10:08:50 PM |

what kind of rifle? what caliber?
If you're in the market for an AR-15 I would find one online somewhere and order it. If you're looking for a bolt gun, then you could probably find one there depending on the caliber you wanted it in.

Then I'd say you're probably going to find something unless you're particular about what features you want on it. I'm not as knowledgeable on bolt guns as I am on AR-15s so maybe someone else can tell you what to expect price wise.

^^Marlin XS7 in .308 is a GREAT gun for the money. You can get them for like $270 or so at Bass Pro, and mine did wayyyyyy sub MOA at 100yrds with a good scope. I had the rifle, a Nikon BDC, and a set of rings, and had just a hair over $400 in it. 11/13/2010 9:14:01 AM |

This may be a dumb question, but I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to gun law. My dad wants to give me a couple of guns at thanksgiving. If I pick them up and bring them home I'll be transporting them across 2 state lines (NC to GA) and I'm 99% sure they aren't registered or anything. I realize that gun laws vary state by state, but should I look into making any prior arrangements in order to transport them legally? Its just a couple of 12gages, a 410, and a little 22 rifle. 11/15/2010 10:52:44 PM |

If he gives them to you then you own them. You can transport your own guns across state lines. I'm pretty sure none of those states require gun registration. Some states have different rules regarding transporting firearms. Generally you should be fine with just keeping them unloaded in the trunk/cargo area. Gun cases are a good idea. 11/16/2010 11:24:54 AM |

I'll be going to the gun show... Trying to pick up a couple magazines for my G27. If an LCP or Ruger MKIII are available at an awesome price, I'd be inclined to purchase, but I doubt to find what I seek
I saw a DWM Luger 9mm for sale at Davis the other day. [WANT]

^^ don't know about the lcp, but you'll see plenty of keltecs and plenty of rugers (in the mk line). Just make sure you shop around because I saw a good 50 dollar difference b/w the rugers around the show (I bought mine there and saved a good $75+ fees from what I would have paid at a shop here) 11/20/2010 8:10:08 AM |

I'm probably gonna kick myself later for not jumping on it, but I talked a guy down to $250 cash OTD for a Ruger mkiii with the 4.75" barrel. Also saw 2 booths that offered new glock 23 (3rd gen) for $500 cash OTD. LCP was $300 OTD. Kinda wish I got that ruger, but I got a couple G23 mags and a 31 rnd .40 mag for a great deal. 11/20/2010 11:07:50 AM |

^^yeah, you might should have jumped on that ruger... I love mine because I can shoot it all day and spend only 20 bucks (whereas with even my next cheapest gun, the 9mm, I am breaking the bank on my afternoons out on my friends land) 11/22/2010 6:49:42 PM |

^^ It is an Arsenal side folder in 7.62x39 that has been gone over / tweaked a bit by Jim Fuller at Rifle Dynamics. Gray metal surfaces with green furniture, a Jim Fuller rear sight and a gas tube with a Picatinny rail on it. (It has a brand name which escapes me at the moment). 11/23/2010 2:58:34 PM |

Great place, people were extremely nice.
Went to soverign right down the street as well, and wasnt really impressed. Guys didnt seem to know too much. 11/27/2010 8:56:55 PM |

yesterday they sold me a new camelbak GI issue Motherlode pack for $50 that someone had traded in to them on a gun. Still had the tags on it, brand new. The pack retails for like $240.
they also had a shitload of nagants w/ bayonets straight from russia. most were still in the shipping crates, for like $115 or so. Not the best price but a good selection if you looking for one and are picky.

I played with a buddy's P-11 this weekend and I'm really craving a keltec now(though I think I want a pf-9 instead). Would I be crazy to go into a gun shop and try to trade in my p95 on one, or will they hose me on trade in value? Should I just resell privately instead? 11/28/2010 4:16:07 PM |

They're a business and have make money to keep the lights on. That means they'll offer you 40-60% of what they want to sell it for. I've bought guns cheap enough that I could trade them without feeling ripped off but most of the time, you're going to want to sell it yourself. 11/28/2010 6:04:04 PM |

for like a 75 yard shot with a slug? 11/28/2010 8:12:03 PM |
theDuke866 All American 52839 Posts user info edit post |
why are you shooting slugs to begin with?
...and even then, at 75 yards, with the accuracy (or lack thereof) you'll have, I'd be happy with a red dot sight.

I prefer slugs...I know some prefer buckshot but my Remington shoots slugs really well. 11/28/2010 8:25:21 PM |
theDuke866 All American 52839 Posts user info edit post |
My opinion is that, unless it's a dedicated slug gun (rifled barrel, etc) in a place where you aren't allowed to hunt with a rifle, I'd prefer to either shoot buckshot or a rifle. A slug in a regular shotgun is still such a short-range affair that, to me, it's not worth it.
I've killed deer with buckshot...they dropped right where they stood, just like with a rifle...but unless I was running dogs (which is lame, in my opinion), or hunting somewhere that I felt like a short-range shot was by far the most likely, I'd much rather use a rifle.
At any rate, 75 yards is nothing. You don't need a scope for that, especially with something as inaccurate to begin with as a regular shotgun shooting slugs. I think that even a low-power scope might be a hindrance in some situations. Iron sights (I like peep/ghost ring sights) or a red-dot reflex sight would be perfectly fine. 11/28/2010 8:35:51 PM |
