^ They have to maintain their proprietary bloatware and custom UIs. Naturally, they allocate an extensive staff of negative 4 people.

There is to many pages to read over so I'm gonna try and ask this,

How do I get the viberate feature to work with my notifications and not just incoming calls. My junk is set on "viberate all" but doesn't do shit on emails and texts. The green light is the only thing that tells me I have a notification.

Thanks
Motorola Droid

Pretty sure my original Fascinate was a dud, even with how well it performed. The replacement they shipped yesterday is snappier, doesn't lag, etc. and all the strange quirks I had with the first are gone. Thank goodness.

Last I heard, that was probably going to be an LTE device and we wouldn't actually see it in person till CES. So I would estimate mid-2011 but nobody really knows.

"Motorola: DROID 2 Didn’t Explode, Dude Dropped It and Cut His Ear
On 12.10.10, In News, by Kellex

Remember the exploding Droid 2 from last week that crushed some guy’s ear, leading his shadiness it to bleed all over the internet in a set of ridiculous pictures? Well, I’m sure you’ll be so surprised to know that the guy was potentially lying. Shocker, I know. Motorola has commented to Gearlog this morning, confirming that the phone was likely dropped, leaving the screen cracked. The man then cut his ear on the cracked glass after forgetting Childhood No-Nos 101 which says, “stay clear of broken glass you fool.”

Motorola also made it clear that nothing exploded in this device:

[T]he only things that could explode in a phone would have resulted in a phone that did not work, yet this phone worked. And there was no explosive damage to the device (things inside blown outward, etc).

I love scamsters. They make for great internet reading."

Sweet, I'll have to get this again. I had it before, but it stopped working when my Incredible got the Froyo update. I didn't feel like going through Swype's painful bug reporting process/fix.

ok, I'm getting lost looking at droid phones for Verizon wireless.

Best buy has the HTC incredible for free right now w/ a renewal (which I'm up for anyway)...am I going to be let down by it?

yeah - i saw a droid X and felt like it was too big. the Droid 2 is ok, but the keyboard didn't impress me much. is there a "best" option for VZW right now? there is new every 2 prices available online for me (which is really just $50 off current prices in most cases)

^^ honestly you'll get used to the size of the X pretty quickly. I was worried about it but after a few days, it just felt normal. My sister even carries one now and she came from a flip phone.

yeah don't worry too much about the droid x's size. if you can wait a couple months then do it and you'll be more satisfied though. dual-core gingerbread phones are just around the corner

you don't have to, but if you do there are some fun things that you can do with root.

there's rooting and then there's NAND unlocking

a full root does both

a simple root will just give you access to run apps as a super user. apps like wifi tether only need you to have access to super user commands to run them.

a NAND unlock will allow you to flash a customized version of your phone's ROM to your device. there are lots of developers who customize the hell out of android and then share it for the community to use. this allows you to use the latest and greatest kernel releases and builds, theme things up the wazoo, and customize your phone completely from bootscreens to animations to everything.
