I mean yes we had a disappointing season versus initial expectations and I am as guilty as anyone of going off on some rants and being pissed off. Looking back at the past two years versus the five before that though I think we can all agree things have been much better. We all knew the UCLA job was one of the few Gott would be very interested in so no one should be surprised he is involved in the talks. Sure he inherited some talented guys but you cant really argue that the past two years were some of the better years we have had in a long time and I hope we can continue to at least be a yearly tourney team and in the top half of the ACC.

Stop acting like CJL and Brown are the last great players we will have in Gott's tenure here. This guy isn't going to be in the hot seat until year 6, regardless of results. His first two years are the most exciting at NCSU since Julius Hodge was here. Stop being ridiculous, most coaches don't come in having this much success, which is why his first two years are HISTORIC. Was this year a disappointment? No, not from the inside looking out. Was it overly hyped? Yes, and from the outside looking in it our team seemed "inconsistent" with expectations. If Gott took this team to back-to-back Sweet Sixteen's everyone in the nation would be saying he walks on water... baby steps people, baby steps.

Sorry, but you're full of crap. This was probably the most talent loaded team in the last 15 years and the results were piss poor, especially given a weak UNC team. This season's results were inexcusable.

Even though he was a giant dick about it, CJ Leslie wasn't wrong. Gott inherited a program that had become a perennial bottom feeder in the ACC and hadn't even sniffed the bubble for 5 seasons. It's amazing he even wanted to take the job, let alone turn things around the way he did. We're all disappointed by how this year ultimately turned out, but come on, be a little realistic. Ya'll have been sucking Tony Bennet's dick since he was hired at UVA and he's won exactly 0 NCAA tournament games. Give Gottfried some credit.

i'm a bit nervous over the ucla coaching search. they have dipped in prestige a little, and gott's relative success here coupled with his ties to the school lead me to believe they may end up scooping him up. ucla doesn't seem to have the clout right now to attract a top-tier coach, and gott might be in the sweet spot.

Gottfried is not a bad coach. It's been two seasons, people. In just two seasons all of our starters have improved. He pretty much had to un-coach all the bullshit that Lowe taught those guys and he's made the tournament each year, which is pretty damn good. Let's see what he can do with players that he has for several years.

We were overhyped as hell this year because of the tournament last year and the supposed weakness of the ACC. His recruiting has been sensational so far as well.

If we lost Gottfried we would be totally fucked. The only situation that I could see us walking away on top would actually be if we got Howland, but that scenario is near impossible.

Yeah, don't mind me. lets continue to set our coaching standard by a guy who has never and never will coach at another school.

Lets not forget people were saying the same things about Lowe after year 2. Forgot about how Lowe made a run at the end of the first season and the only difference was really that college baskebtall was stronger in those years.

We've seen enough data here and at Alabama to know that he is not a good coach but a hell of a recruiter and lets face it, talent can mask coaching to some degree (which is why people think hes such a great coach).
