RoboBob on TDS last night was pretty cool.
I wanted him gone in '11 and I'm extremely pleased with Klinsmann but that doesn't mean I hate Bradley and/or don't appreciate some of what he did with the USMNT. I really hope Egypt makes the WC. 7/26/2013 8:56:09 AM |

Has no one posted about John Anthony Brooks being called up to a friendly?
If we cap-tie him he'll easily be the most important dual-citizenship player to ever choose us. He could very easily have eventually been a regular for the Germans... 7/26/2013 1:19:19 PM |

Ha... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W%C3%A1lter_Quesada
Quote : | "Wálter Enrique Quesada Cordero (born 9 May 1970) is a Costa Rican football referee. He has been a FIFA International referee since 2001. During his career he was appointed for four CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments where he took charge of a single group stage fixtures in 2005 (Mexico vs Jamaica), 2007 (Honduras vs Mexico) and 2009 (United States vs Haiti). In the 2011 edition he officiated another group stage match (Jamaica vs Guatemala) before being handed a quarterfinal between Panama and El Salvador. Later in 2011 he was selected for his maiden Copa América. Most recently served as a referee during 2013 Gold Cup. During 2013 Gold Cup he continued his douchebaggery by failing to make calls that endangered players. His anger was often directed at the players who objected to being fouled. (See U.S. vs. Honduras) When called out by U.S. Head Coach Jergen Klinsmann , he promptly ejected the coach. Quesada has been seen attending Justin Beiber concerts while wearing capri's and smoking Virginia Slims cigarettes. He also prefers to be called Nancy Quesada." |

yep, I agree with you. Some people were already putting him on the World Cup roster.
Speaking of putting people on the WC roster...
Aron Johnannsson announced he wants to play for the US instead of Iceland. Striker at Jozy's old club in Holland. Apparently Arsenal was interested in him last year too. Purely judging from his highlights, he looks very similar to Wondolowski but he's 22, not 50.7/29/2013 8:53:17 AM |

Where's Donovan's spot on the A-Team lineup? Out on the wing? We'll have a pretty solid midfield if everyone stays healthy but I think he definitely deserves a spot. I'm not complaining about having too many quality midfielders to place though 7/31/2013 9:48:13 AM |

If we can find anybody better than an aging Beasley at LB, then push Fabian to LM and move Donovan over to the right. Against better opponents, I think this our best 11.
--------------Guzan--------------
Chandler--Besler--Omar--F. Johnson ---------Jones--Bradley-----------
Zusi------------------------Donovan
---------------Dempsey-----------
---------Altidore------------------
Honestly, I think he'd be better off the bench since we're lacking in a true game changer in our depth but it all depends who emerges over the next year and who isn't hurt. Shea just got hurt yesterday (if you consider him a true game changer). 7/31/2013 12:39:54 PM |

I like Beasley much better than Fabian Johnson. Beasley has repeatedly performed very well in the past year, and I love his hustle. He gets up the wing from the back and has the motor to go all game. He also is great at recovering whenever he does get beat. It was amazing to see the difference when Shea got put in between the LM and LB, because one was slow and constantly getting burned defensively and losing his mark, and the other was having to make up for it and do all the work.

Fabian Johnson is a boss though. I do think he's more effective as a LM but a Fabian/Landy left side would be fucking dangerous.
And I got mad respect for Beasley for working his way back into the picture and for how he's played the last year, don't get me wrong. I just think if he's our starter there next summer, we will pay for it. I can see him definitely on the roster for depth since he's versatile enough to play a few positions. 7/31/2013 1:16:19 PM |

Also Guzan over Howard is interesting.

To me, the difference in quality between the two keepers is minimal, I think Guzan controls his box a bit better. Either way, we're pretty strong at GK. Even Rimando as a 3rd choice is pretty solid.
Chandler's been hurt off and on. I also read that he has a fear of flying, although I'm not sure how true that is. I wish Cherundolo was healthy but Chandler is really our best option at RB unless you want to play dudes like Parkhurst and Evans 7/31/2013 1:32:56 PM |
