The season is really unravelling quickly.


Gottfried better stay hot on the recruiting trail, because his coaching is leaving a lot to be desired. This has potential to be the most underachieving team in the country this year. He walked into a rosy situation, but when the talent leaves he's going to be seriously exposed if this is the best he can do.

That's difficult to do without seeing the bracket and who knows how we'll be playing at year end.

Right now it looks like we're likely to finish 3rd in the ACC behind Duke and UVA at 11-7 and be a #9 seed or so in the tournament. Almost definitely between a 7 and a 10 seed.

We could certainly win our first matchup but we'll be heavy underdogs against the #1 or #2 we face in the 2nd round.

We're not doing ourselves any favors this year for sure.

To be fair, not all of our conference openers have been on the road. I haven't checked but I would guess that happened in about half of the years.

my first instinct was that it wasnt the first acc game, but the first road game in the acc i.e. we've lost our first road acc game every year since 1997. thats not the case though, that stat is rather meaningless.

also upon further fact checking we had an 8 game win streak in 2004-5, so scratch that one too. Thats what I get for listening to espn

Yeah, we won our first ACC road game last year (WF), but it wasn't our conference opener.

Maybe it's tied for our longest win streak in that span?

OK State's statistical rankings compared to NC State:

Ponts per game: OKSU 100th, NCSU 11th
Rebounds per game: OKSU 133rd, NCSU 146th
Assists per game: OKSU 249th, NCSU 68th
Field Goal %: OKSU 139th, NCSU 1st
RPI: OKSU 35 , NCSU 15

OK State just lost 2 in a row (although both were to top-25 teams)

So what does that say about just how good or bad of a loss that really was for us? Is Oklahoma State overachieving? They barely lost to top-10 Gonzaga and mopped the floor with us, but statistically on paper (aside from their record) they are less-than-mediocre.

UNC lost to Santa Clara in the regular season in 2005 by 11. They didn't even make the NIT that year. Why stress yourself out so much on an early season loss like that? It's pretty ridiculous.

No i don't. It's a power rating. When a team is ranked significantly ahead of another team, that means they are the better team.

It also means they'd be several point favorites if they played us right now.

been single about a month. wont be for very long probably, i go crazy if im single and bang way too many girls at crazy hours and get no sleep and constantly drunk.

Id rather have a girlfriend so that sex is boring enough that i can focus on other aspects of life.

Also, OSU is significantly better than us right now. Let's be serious here. We beat BC yesterday because a 93% FT shooter missed a free throw guys. I'm not sure what else to tell you.

I have no idea why people perpetuate the myth that I am "trolling". I am simply stating factual observations 90% of the time...

I know we're all disappointed that this season appears to be below our expectations, but I cant understand why people take that out on me.

and we're not ALL disappointed, only you and skoal can and a handful of others. most of us realize we were overhyped to begin with, that the team has and will improve as teh season goes, and that we are way better than we were at this point in time last season

And Carzin, I've met you and know that you're a really sharp guy. I know you're not a big sports fan, but you have enough intelligence that I'm surprised you aren't one of my biggest fans.

Usually the people who dislike me here are the drooling idiots like DROD9000 who know absolutely nothing about sports and don't have even basic comprehension skills to digest analysis.

There was a thread recently where nearly everyone labelled me as the best poster in sports talk. And I get a lot of PM's from people who appreciate the work I do and give you for free. I have a lot of friends I share profitable info with as well and they all thank me. Here people develop an inferiority complex.

It's a very weird dynamic, but I don't mind if people here hate me. This isn't real life. I'm unaffected.
