He did call up 5 guys in MLS/Mexico but they're all "fringe" players at this point so he must just want another look at them before WCQs.

Calling Dempsey in for this game would have been stupid.

Beasley is old and just played the entire Gold Cup.

Zusi/Gonzalez play in MLS (the roster is mostly European based) and play positions with legit other options that also deserve looks.
