I'm sure there will be some variation of them for verizon, maybe even LTE.

"Wimax ported (at last!) to Cyanogenmod for the Evo 4G
Posted on Friday, Dec 17, 2010 by Phil Nickinson

The Cyanogenmod series of ROMs has done a lot of great things for a lot of phones. But one feature that's been sorely missing on the Evo 4G has been Wimax data. The 4G radio uses code that hasn't been readily available, so it's been a long road getting it to work. But today, folks, it works. It's still not quite ready for prime time, but rest assured, it's coming, folks. Keep an eye out for updates soon"

^ !!!!! WTF HOW?!?!?!?!?!?!?

In other news I finally fucking got 2.2 for my phone this morning. About damn time they pushed it out. I like the functionality, I dont like the look of the UI.

Further edit: HOT DAMN Sprint put on mifi in the update. Sweet!

ha, it'll probably cost you out your ass to use the mifi app though.

As for the tdub notifications, zorthage got bored. It's not a full-on tdub app but it'll check to see if you have pm's and open them in your web browser if you touch the notification.

ha sucks if true. DJ05 runs smooth and fixes the gps and soft touch backlight issues so it isn't all bad I suppose.

"The question was posed on an internal forum system at Big Red:

"Any further updates as to when we will be releasing Froyo 2.2 for the Fascinate??"

To which the moderator responded: "Currently preparing to release MR2 (fixes only), FROYO will follow (early next year). The load is too large to put FROYO 2.2 into MR2."

I do not know what build MR2 is, but Big Red simply refers to builds as MRx, where x = the number of builds (read: times) they've updated. So the jump from DH12 to DI01 is considered MR1, this would be MR2. I however assume its DJ05 or even a newer build which has DJ05 and bug fixes that came from that, but we'll have to wait and see.

That being said, the moderator who responded is a VERY technical person and RELAYS actual device issues to all the OEMS on a daily basis. I would take his statements as fact, hes in charge of the internal forums for ALL phones, company wide, its about the most official, strictly technical, non marketing garbage answer you're going to get. Its his job to know this stuff...."

If you're using Outlook 2007 or earlier or 32-bit 2010 then you can use Google Calendar Sync to sync Outlook to Google and then Google of course syncs to your phone: http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=89955

what ^ said. It should work fine for syncing your calendar.

As for taking screen shots, the answer is no unless you can get it to work by using the Android SDK but you'd need to have it plugged in.

Has anyone else had issues installing updates for Pandora or Titanium Backup? I'm on a Droid X, rooted but stock ROM. Haven't changed anything recently but for some reason, I haven't been able to get the updates for either of these apps for the last couple of days. Other updates have installed fine. It's just these 2.

uninstall the apps

go to settings > applications > market
clear cache and clear data

start market again and install those apps. should be fine.

they work great for me.

anybody else have problems with their DX not recognizing their SD card?

mine is fine and dandy one minute, then when I refresh my phone, I get the unrecognized card icon. i restart the phone and it's fine again, then in an hour or so the card isn't recognized again.

^^Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't try it but while looking through the apps to delete them, I remembered that I moved a bunch of apps to the SD card last week. Moved them back to the phone and they installed.

so I've got Cyanogenmod 6.1.0 (froyo) running on my old HTC Tmobile G1. It's running pretty nicely and I like the extra features cyanogen added in (like customizing the main dock). I'm seeing a problem though, with some apps I download, they just disappear from my status bar and never get installed. has anyone seen this before? could it be because i'm downloading an app meant for froyo but my phone doesn't fit some kind of requirements?

^^^^^^^ I just tried the bugless beast 0.6, and while I liked it, I'm going to stick with CyanogenMod 6.1.1 and the Gingerbread theme for it.

Theme #6
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/10906-theme-pack-cm61-theme-collection/

I just like the functionality of CyanogenMod. I just recently changed the screen dim level to 2 for everyday use (which is lower than the usual lowest setting) and the battery life is amazing.

Question : this was the first theme I have installed for CyanogenMod. If i want to install a new theme, can I just install over the old theme?

I just tried to get the OTA upgrade to 2.3 with my DX, and it "says" it's downloading it and will let me know when it's done... But I don't see any indication in my status bar of downloading, and I feel like there was one last time. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

so if the incredible hd or something similarly awesome debuts within 30 days of my buying the x (which i did on 12/12), i can exchange it no questions asked? would i need to de-root and all that stuff?

highly doubt you'll see the incredible HD within 30 days. It'll probably be revealed at CES in 2 weeks but wouldn't expect to see it that soon. But yes you can exchange within 30 days with a $35 restocking fee and you'd probably want to return it back to stock.

mine installed fine but killed root. oddly left superuser in my app drawer so it was confusing at first. ended up just using z4 to reroot.

you didn't delete any of the stock apps once you rooted did you? if so, that's the problem. OTA won't install without several of them.

PS: anyone using the Firefox beta? I'm testing it (and going back to Dolphin quickly) and wonder if mine is normal in that there's no autocorrect whatsoever.

I'm getting ready to throw my fucking Dx into a lake. Searching finds a bunch of people trying to change addresses but no solutions.

First, I'm using a Droid X on 2.2.1 (latest update 2.3.340 or whatever).

Yesterday I did a factory reset. When the phone came back up, I tried to set everything back up. I have 2 Google Accounts that I use with my DX (1 work & 1 personal). I entered my personal account first and then my work account. Once I finished, Android market refused to give me any of my apps back (including charging me for one that I had already purchased). I waited for 6 hours and then did another reset. This time I set up my work account first. Now all of my apps came back with no problems. The problem is that my personal account is my Checkout account. I've never used my work address for Checkout. Now it prompts me to enter a credit card to purchase new apps. I can't find a single way to change which account Market associates with (this is basic functionality Google!!!) and I'm stuck not being able to download new apps.

Cliff notes:
Correct primary address (personal) ends up with no apps but correct Checkout account (previously used). Incorrect primary address (work) ends up with all apps but wrong Checkout account (never used)
