That NCSU vs UNC fans thread on IC is pretty funny. In fact, one post says something like "Losing to State sucks. But Va, Duke, and Tech are our real rivals"

I get the historic factor of the UVa/UNC rivalry...but I really don't consider that a big rivalry. Of course, I'm not a UNC or UVa fan so I can't say how the majority of their fans view this rivalry. And I get the UNC/Duke rivalry...both teams have been dominant in basketball lately and they are very close in proximity, so it naturally carries over to football. But Tech? First off...I assume he's talking about VT. But that's a rivalry? Seriously...why in the world is that a rivalry?

I know UNC fans have been claiming for some time that we aren't their rivals...I get it. The fact is, we are their rivals. They paint our free expression tunnel blue when we play them...but we're not their rival.

BTW, Wikipedia claims UNC's football rivals are Duke/State/Wake/UVa.

And FWIW, Wikipedia lists our football rivals as Clemson, So Car, ECU, UNC, Wake, Duke

If I were a UNC fan (god forbid), I would embrace the bball rivalry with Duke more than State, because frankly Duke has been a much better bball program than we have over the last 20 years or so, and I would take pride in being rivals with an elite program.

In football, Duke has plain sucked ass since Spurrier left. And yeah, they did ok for Duke last year, but they look like shit again this year. State, while not being an elite football program, is certainly a much better program than Duke. Based on that, if I were a UNC fan, I'd embrace the football rivalry with State more than Duke.

But thats just me, I don't have the warped-ass perception of things that UNC fans do.

-story breaks(last couple of days)

-ECU beats UNC(this saturday)

-Davis gets fired (next week)

-UNC gets death penalty (next month)


Now, i've told you guys step by step how this was going to unfold and I haven't been wrong yet.
