I just noticed that mine has shipped and it is only 1.0lb. That can't be right can it?

^^^ keep in mind that you can add a new line, and that your 2 year commitment is not a 2 year commitment for a iphone data plan, but rather a commitment of service on 1 phone.

I picked up my iphone 3gs today for 200, even though I have only had my 3g for 7 months... When I got the 3g, I got it on a 3rd line (for mother in law, and gave her my old samsung phone)... so I was eligible for an upgrade this time around, and will sell my 3g on ebay for 250 or so.

Pretty sweet.... I was in and out of the apple store today around 4pm (only took 20 minutes, and zero line).

Actually this is really strange. When i first got the tracking it said 1lbs then yesterday it changed to 2 lbs. So keep watching it and see if it does that.

anyone having wifi connectivity issues since 3.0? i can't hold a wifi signal for more than a minute or so at a time, before it drops and reconnects...thus interrupting anything i was actively downloading/streaming (its especially apparent when using Skype or Jaadu VNC). theres a lot of chatter in the apple forums about this as well

The only one I've ever tried is Jaadu, and it does everything I can think of that I'd want it to do. It's slow as balls when accessing my computer remotely, but I blame that on the ass upload speed I have. I can even manage to do a few things over edge if I'm really patient.

basically the wireless is dropping out every minute or so for a few seconds and the reconnecting, enough to give me the "Connecting" thing in IM+, and for it to drop Skype calls and Jaadu connections. Essentially renders Jaadu and Skype useless. I'm staying in the exact same spot in my apartment, and my laptop never experiences this.

i had to go in and "pre-order" at AT&T store today....I'm taking advantage of upgrade eligibility on another line and using it for me instead. They obviously can't do that kinda of stuff at Apple store so I have to do it at AT&T

But anyway, I got quoted 7-14 days before phone arrives in store

^^^^^do you have bluetooth on? may want to try disabling that and see if it gets better. read somewhere bluetooth interfered with wifi

You could have just bought it at the apple store and then walked it over to ATT somewhere, and they would switch the numbers for lines for you.... better option if you dont want to wait a few weeks for it to come in.

They still had a bunch at apple store on saturday. I got a 16GB black there.

Yeah i did the same thing. Ordered it last Monday though. When it comes today i'm taking it into an ATT store to have the numbers switched.

I was at Crabtree around closing time Saturday night and there were still about 15 or so people in line outside the Apple store. But when I first got to the mall about an hour or so earlier there were probably double that at least.

my MMS isnt working and after lengthy googling i only found one thing that said it would be out "later this summer." does it seriously not work yet? is there a date when it will work? or do i just have a screwed up phone?

^no you just have a screwed up service provider. AT&T was apparently taken by surprise at WWDC and didn't realize Apple was adding this new unheard of concept to the phone called MMS...so they're scrambling to play catch up. They said it would be out later this summer which is the 'official' release time frame. No solid date as of yet.

^^I was being sarcastic. As you pointed out...MMS has been around for a long time. Just because the iPhone suddenly supports it is no reason why AT&T can't support it. Especially since they've known about MMS on the iPhone long before we did.

what don't you understand? at&t isn't letting people with iphones use MMS. i don't think there is much logical reasoning behind it unless there's something associated with the extra volume from iphone users that they couldn't handle.

So...if you pre-order at the store, do you not get an iphone from the next available shipment? They're getting new ones each day. The one I went to on the 19th still had phones left 2 hours before closing, so I doubt they'll be selling out day after day.

^If you really want it this has worked for me in the past with FedEx. I called them up and told them that I needed the item ASAP because of a flight and if I could come pick it up from the hub and not have them put it on a delivery truck.

From what i remember the only way you can go pick it up is if they have attempted delivery but no one was there to sign. You can't pick it up until after the scheduled delivery date.
